My Sister Read about this place in RACQ magazine sounded interesting so we made the trip out to Adavale. Well we were pleasantly surprised. We had the high tea and it was a standard you would expect in a well known patisserie in a city. Christina’s hospitality was great and loved her stories of her experience moving here. Thank you and enjoyed our experience at Adavale.

Imagine if you will, travelling through a neighbouring town and hearing about a fabulous PATISSERIE located over 115 kilometers away but being inspired enough to drive along a partiality dirt road to the tiniest town imaginable that gives BIG!Adavale is the gateway to Hell Hole National Park it is also home to the very epervessant Christina and her PATISSERIE called Elegant Emu. It really was a pleasure to meet Christina and listen to her story of procuring, preparing from scratch, cooking and serving food that Christina genuinely has a natural passion along with talent for.Coffee, cakes, savouries, high tea, gifts, souvenirs and more.

Wow....quaint, quirky, and exquisite, Our high tea was amazing. Cristina puts so much love into her tasty creations. Not only was the food fantastic but so too the ambience of the Elegant Emu which pops with fun (love the emu artwork and chandeleir), the splashes of colour and intricate touches that provide a truly wonderful experience. Loved this place. Cristina has set up the old Doctor's residence with a real sense of style, while retaining it's character. Hard to find coffee this good in regional areas and creative, delicious patisseries. Cristina was very friendly and open and was very generous with her time and anecdotes of life in the area.

Visited The Elegant Emu to celebrate my 60th birthday. A fabulous quirky place with exceptional food and very friendly and welcoming host. Book in and experience Cristina’s fabulous food. You will not be disappointed. Well worth the drive from Quilpie.

What a gem. Cakes were tasty and pot of tea was lovely. Owner was friendly and willing to chat also provided areas of interest to see in Avadale. Well worth a drive from Quilpie or a must do on your way to Blackall or Hells gorge
