Nodo Hawthorne

Love Nodo Hawthorne! The food, chai lattes and coffee are always excellent and we love the new menu, especially the “prawn and corn”. The donuts are also always spectacular of course. So grateful to have somewhere that’s so good at gluten free. ❤️

This cafe has become a regular spot for us due to their delicious gluten-free donuts. These donuts have a cake-like texture, and we've had the opportunity to try various flavors, all of which were enjoyable.Aside from the donuts, we occasionally visit for brunch. The coffee is satisfying, and the portion sizes of the meals are adequate. The cafe has a pleasant interior, and the staff strike a balance between attentiveness and allowing customers to enjoy their privacy.

Very nice gem in Hawthorne. The table service is a treat and the service overall is fast and efficient. The food was delicious and the chai latte was really great and not the usual. Inside and outside seating available and the music was very enjoyable.

Such a good Brekky spot. Went for a sweet option, which is unlike me, but wow was it worth it. Sooo delicious. I will just add the waffle would’ve been even better if it was warm! Oh well, I’ll definitely be back.

I summarise this experience as Definitely not cheap - but not cheerful either! My hubbie and I drove quite a distance in anticipation of having a lovely breakfast at Nodo Hawthorne this morning. It was the opposite of lovely and we will think very seriously about whether we will ever return. One waitress a well built girl in her 20s with blonde hair should think about a change of her career. She was definitely NOT an asset to Nodo. She had quite a surly attitude and it spilled over into giving us, the customer, a less than enjoyable experience! Is she’s had a bad morning don’t take it out on us. We ordered coffees and she never came back for our breakfast order. She then came n took the order of 6 people at the adjacent table. I went to the counter to make our order n as I got there she then shouted across the shop, “I can take your order now”. So then I had to walk back to where she was to take our order. Nothing pleasant about her taking such a large order ahead of us and then shouting across the shop. Very classy! Not!When our coffees came mine was so weak I could barely taste the coffee. It was also cold. My hubbies was super strong almost so strong he couldn’t drink it. Maybe my coffee shot was put into his in error. They were both mug size. I think they both should have had 2 shots? But not so! We didn’t bother to say anything as we didn’t need to add more to Ms Surlys day…. Wouldn't have been worth it for us.Then I go to the ladies and when I come back to the table she has her back to me and steps in front of me as she’s tidying after the table of 6 which is finished and gone! I had to step back n shuffle around her and I doubt she even noticed. I definitely did not feel like a valued customer whose experience was even considered. These are small things but the whole pattern of things led to a sub optimal experience. I’d rather go somewhere where people greet you with a smile n try hard to make your day.Ps also warning to others they charge $5 for half an avocado if you choose it as an extra on your chosen dish. As they say in the movie “ tell them they’re dreaming!”

Great dog friendly cafe experience. Plenty of outdoor space and has the best banana bread and spread.

Absolutely delish! Love the menu options and always get a donut to take home. Love visiting with my friend who is Coeliac - no need to worry about any accidental gluten!

Been here twice for dine in and many more for take away coffee and donuts. Food and friendly service is consistently top notch. Coffee is perfect everytime. So glad you've opened in Hawthorne.

I ordered the roasted cauliflower homous which came with stir fried vegetables, mostly silverbeet. Also came with a poached egg which I swapped for fried. Would have enjoyed the dish more if the stir fry was hot, was served luke warm & soon became ice cold in the breeze. We were sitting in the dog friendly area. Service was fast & efficient
