The shop has a good variety of anything you need for your kitchen fun. However, don't expect a great deal of help in making any choices. I bought a kitchen knife as a gift for a friend a while ago but the staff was not able to provide any insight on the difference or quality of the knifes themselves. I gave it another shot today to buy a new french-press. They did have 6 different variants or so ($50-$150). The staff comment was: They are all the same

I went in store today with the intention of spending quite a bit of money to update my kitchen collection. I was not greeted by staff nor attended to while I did a few laps of the store looking for what I needed. I was the only customer in the store and there were two staff members who seemed more concerned with their own conversation rather than helping me.I ended up walking out and spending my money elsewhere. A little customer service goes a long way!!!

Staff are very rude and bossy for people who don’t know anything about the ingredients they’re selling. Which is a pity, because they sell things that may otherwise hard to find in suburban Australia. Worth going if you only need one or two ingredients you can’t find at the supermarket, but don’t forget to bring headphones so you can ignore the staff - if you have questions, you’re better off googling the answers yourself. (Except for the cheese guy - he’s great and actually very good at his job)

We love you girls!!! Best place to find presents for foodies. Lots of elegant & unique homewares. The only place to buy cheese in Newcastle. And the service is always incredibly happy. Oh, and the cooking classes are so much fun in a gorgeous kitchen ❤️

The Essential Ingredient has everything I can't find at the local supermarket. I love visiting this store to browse specialty kitchen equipment and interesting ingredients. The staff are lovely and will help you to find whatever you need. They are also really knowledgeable about the products and how to use them. I will be back!

Fabulous store for every thing gourmet along with beautiful home wares, utensils, ingredients and knowledgeable staff. Cooking school is a buzz participants looked like they were having fun. Just an excellent place to shop and learn.

Excellent Store for ingredients and all cooking item's.Great variety of quality dinnerware,glassware pots and pans and an excellent deli to make this a one stop shop for anyone interested in food or cooking.Lovely staff and a fabulous cooking school.If you can't find it here its not available
