I am truly grateful to triage team, surgical team and nurses for providing me with the most amazing care for an urgent unexpected visit to the hospital. They were very efficient with getting my issue resolved in 24hrs. My nurse Erin in the day stay unit was absolutely incredible along with my other nurses who took care of me throughout my stay. I also want to highlight the RITZ program. It is such a useful resource the hospital has implemented. Thank you SJOG for the amazing duty of care.

Wonderful experience in the maternity ward today. I was in as a Gynae patient not to give birth and all of the nurses, anaesthetist, doctors, and lovely porter who took me down, and fantastic afternoon tea lady who came later were exceptional. My daughter has spent a lot of time in hospitals and that tea lady made her the best Milo she's ever had". So there's kudos to you wonderful lady who obviously cares about people and takes great pride in your job. Thank you all for a positive hospital experience. x"

The service I have received here has been absolutely amazing, professional , peaceful and caring!! From the moment I checked with ladies at the admission desks to the nurses Kaitlyn and Justine and to the others I didn’t get their names , to the nursing assistants who deliver food and drinks and assist the nurses , to the orderly’s ( the people that take you to theatre and back ) to the anaesthetists, the staff in the theatre and recovery and to my surgeon, Dr McGuinn. So impressed with the hospital and staff , I cannot fault them at all.Thankyou ☺️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10 stars from me !

I recently had a three-day stay in Brain Stroke Rehabilitation at Midland Hospital due to my brain Neurological Functioning Disorder . While I appreciate the efforts of most of the medical staff, my overall experience left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the nurses and doctors were kind, helpful, and friendly. They provided the care and attention I needed during my stay, which I greatly appreciated. I would like to acknowledge their professionalism and dedication. However, there were certain aspects of my experience that were disappointing and concerning. I was surprised to discover that there were student doctors who seemed to be using me for their own research purposes without proper explanation or consent. It made me feel like a mere laboratory mouse, and I believe patients should be fully informed and given the choice to participate in such activities.Furthermore, on the third day of my stay, I encountered a nurse who displayed a rude and judgmental attitude. When I requested my own prescribed medication back , she refused to give it to me, citing hospital policy. While I understand the need for policies, her approach was insensitive and made me feel as though I was being accused of misusing my medication. As someone in a critical mental health condition, I expected to receive compassion and support, not to be treated like a potential drug dealer. In addition to this, I had an unpleasant interaction with a staff member from the kitchen. The individual handed me the menu in a rude manner, tossing it towards me. Considering my emotional state at the time, this behavior was disheartening and contributed to my overall negative experience. Moreover, I was informed by the neurologist specialist that I needed to consult a psychiatrist specialist. On the last day of my stay, a lady approached me, and I assumed she was the psychiatrist specialist. I proceeded to explain my situation for half an hour, feeling tense and under pressure. Only at the end did I realize she was a nurse, not a psychiatrist specialist. I had expected to consult with a psychiatrist specialist, and this revelation left me deeply upset. While I acknowledge the efforts of the majority of the staff and the kindness they showed, these negative encounters impacted my perception of the hospital. Patients should be treated with respect and empathy, especially during challenging times. Proper communication and clarity regarding the roles and expertise of medical professionals would greatly improve the patient experience.I hope that Midland Hospital takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving the areas that fell short of expectations. A more patient-centered approach, improved communication, and ensuring the presence of appropriate specialists would greatly enhance the overall experience.Note: This review is based on my personal experience and may not reflect the experiences of others.

Last night, I took my very sick 4 year old to the ED. She had a severe kidney infection over xmas and it appears all her symptoms are back. I didn't want to wait or take any chances, her fever was really high and not coming down and she was screaming of pain. We waited for 7 hours in the ED and she never got checked by a doctor. Never! I ended up taking her home at 1am because she needed to sleep and keeping her awake in the hope of seeing a doctor was just counter productive at this point, the nurse completely agreed with me. Let me be clear, this is not a complaint about the staff. Every nurse we talked to was nothing short of amazing, kind, caring and understanding. They were also clearly under enormous pressure with a doctor shortage and priority 1 patients that just kept coming in. I couldn't believe the sheer exhaustion, distress and compassion fatigue the nurses were under, not to mention the dozens of sick people who waited alongside us and never saw a doctor either.. It was an absolute chaos, the waiting room was overflowing and they had to create new waiting room areas...it seemed like doctors were nowhere to be seen. Appalling upper management, patient flow management, staffing issues, you name it, and both patients and nurses were paying the price. A shocking experience to say the least...

Well, what a journey we have had with my Father. Although the ED was chockers we were seen in good time. I might like to make mention one of your Volunteers Bob, he could not do enough for me when we arrived. Although we could not go into the Ritz Area Bob went to tell Dad we were here. This I know created some ease for Dad.. Jump a few days ahead and the Staff in general across all departments were so so so wonderful. Your willingness to keep us informed and keep Dad comfy was first class...special mention to Violetta in 2C. Just wonderful. The Doctors, Nurses, PCA's and Hospitality staff have been a blessing... THANK YOU, THANK YOU. xxx

If I could give 100 stars, I would. Being young and fit, I would have never expected to spend some time in a hospital for cardiac issues. Since the moment I stepped in at the ED to the departure a couple of days later from ward 3B, all the attention and the care where outstanding. Big Thanks to all the workers, nurses, doctors… from ED (big HI to Franz), ward 3C (Tasma!) to Royal Perth for a quick visit (thanks St JoHn Ambiulances) to Ward 3D, you may my stay easy in one of the most difficult moments of my life so far. I wouldn’t never forget it.

Horrible experience today at Emergency Department at Midland, i waited 4 hours to get consultation for my 4 years old son who was very ill. I understand the priority system in ED but this was extreme. I could see and tell who had life threatening conditions and who were least priority like my son, but everybody was served before him. Even if he was least priority, it must have been informed that it will take this much time. The average waiting time on screen was 1 hour and 20 minutes. On confrontation, a nurse casually said 'you can go if you want to go. Like really??!! I waited 4 hours just to have my son get more miserable. Thank you for your horrible service. Another sleepless night for my son today."
