When I first got my youth allowance they were originally very helpful but recently my experiences at this Centrelink have not been great. One lady who has served me in the past now seems to have a less positive attitude and doesn’t seem as approachable. She didn’t bother to explain why we had to use the self service phones at the centre and not in person. Turns out they don’t have a student officer to deal with such matters but she only told us this when she came over because she wanted us to stop openly complaining even though we were talking quietly.

Called in with a very simple question which should have been accessible with a few computer keystrokes. Was told I had to wait to meet with a consultant. Estimated waiting time 30 minutes. My inquiry did NOT need an appointment with a consultant. Why do the simple tasks get turned into something unnecessarily complicated? Is it 2019 or 1919? Tried to get my question answered later that day by phone. OMG now I know what everyone is complaining about when trying to navigate a phone call with Centrelink. Appalling and as a Govt Dept an embarrassment.

It's Centrelink. There is nothing nice about having to go there. The only reason you have to go there is because the online website is the worst designed website ever! Try calling them and be prepared for an extremely long wait if you don't get cutoff while holding on.

Very poor response from staff at Victor Harbour Centre Link office. I approached the office with my Border Collie Dog. I wanted to make an enquiry re my Centre Link payment.I was immediately told by the Security personyou can't come in with your dog!". I said I didn't intend to come in with my dog. Then a middle ages female employee approached & said"You can't come near the building with a dog ! ""No attempt to offer any suggestion how I could safely secure my dog

SAD, wrong directions from the beginning. Daughter 7 months pregnant was told to apply for new start allowance, was told they had a staff member who was pregnant and working. Should have been family tax allowance, found this out from another source. 5 weeks running back and forward, uploading lots of documents and then told she was not eligible. One staff member seemed to know what he was doing but only got to see him once.

You can't even get a hold of this place on the phone becaise it always takes you to self service and when i say my reference number they say it doesn't match any records when I know it does and finally they ask for a pin and because I do t have one they hang up

The staff didn't really seem to even understand the system when I tried to apply for my sons disability allowance. I was told he would definitely get it and then after nine visits, paperwork from doctors nine months of wasted time etc, etc, the whole thing was rejected, along with contradicting information from every different staff member you speak to. As for my husbands health card we were told to fill out a form with our kids names on it, as they didn't have the correct form he had to do it on a form for a separated couple and we had to cross out all the bits and change it to the fact they we had been married twenty years. On another occasion I had to inform them that I had changed my bank details so I took a letter from the bank into them stating this, after a lengthy line up I was told they wouldn't take it and I would have to go home and post it ?????????? they are only some of the reasons I would give them a big fat zero if the computer would accept it.

The lady at the front desk was very helpful. Unfortunately people who had to deal with the guy at the general front desk, was not that fortunate. He was rude to every person he served, even the elderly.
