Nunawading Japanese School - Japanese Tutor Melbourne Pty Ltd

I started learning at Nunawading Japanese School in October 2022. My classes are online as I am based in Adelaide, SA. I think one of the best things about Nunawading classes is the conversational speaking practice (かいわーアッタク！！). For 4 months prior I had studied a different Japanese language school in person in SA before Joining Nunawading Japanese School. I found that my old school focussed so heavily on writing and reading; and as a result I felt I had no confidence in speaking and my listening skills were really lacking.I found Nunawading Japanese School on Google, and saw they offered online classes which was perfect for me to fit around work hours. I was a bit nervous as I wasn't sure how an online class would work but I have to say every class is run so smoothly, the Sensei (teachers) are amazing and so supportive, and it's a really fun interactive learning environment with your classmates.The textbook and homework（しゅくだい <3）are well paced, and the listening exercises for each chapter are great for reinforcing vocabulary and grammar you learn in class. In 6 months I've made friends with my class mates and I'm looking forward to making a trip from Adelaide to Melbourne for the Japanese Summer Festival at Box Hill on May 26th! I’ve been taking the online classes from Hong Kong for more than a year. It’s been a truly amazing and enjoyable experience for me. What impresses me most is that all the teachers at Nunawading Japanese School are enthusiastic and considerate. They always encourage me to speak and practice, even if I am still a beginner. (The dialogue time excites me a lot.) Plus, they are very professional and have a carefully designed syllabus which helps me to learn new stuff while consistently reviewing what has been covered. And since I'm taking individual classes, they keep adjusting the pace of teaching according to my own needs.The school has also done a great job in the management of online classes (thanks to Vaughan). Learning online is almost no different than taking the classes in person. I do recommend the online courses to those who love learning Japanese but are not able to attend in person.

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience in Nunawading Japanese School! My short time there was spent with very friendly teachers and kind classmates. Entering this school was one of the best things I chose to do for myself. I’ve learned a lot, and the teachers were always happy to answer my questions. I’m glad I picked the right place.

Spent a year and a half doing classes here and loved it. All of the teachers are super energetic and make every class fun. Classmates were super friendly and welcoming and it was great to have other people to learn with at a similar skill level. ありがとうございました!

I studied at Nunawading Japanese School onsite for a few months and the classroom atmosphere is great. The Sensei's make you feel comfortable and evenly distribute their attention to each student. I had to move away and transitioned to online classes and Vaughan was very helpful in finding me and new class to join. I also did catch up lessons to help me to get to my new classes level. I felt very welcomed into my new class. The content is great and I learn at a steady pace which fits into my busy schedule. Overall, I would highly recommend Nunawading Japanese School to anybody wanting to learn and I plan on continuing my studies with them until the end!

I have been learning Japanese with the Nunawading Japanese School for six months now. I have previously studied the language, however my commitment to studying and retention of the language itself was not very strong or motivated. This course however has totally changed my perspective on learning another language! The classes are very engaging, and they pace the units so that you never feel rushed or left behind. The atmosphere of the classes give me confidence to actively contribute in-class; an issue that I was seeking to address at the beginning of the course. I highly recommend this school!!!EDIT: I thought to edit this review after a year of attending classes here. Overall I have been finding the classes very engaging. I love that the classes almost exclusively focus on improving listening and speaking skills, as these are the two components of language acquisition that are the most difficult to hone. I find that my confidence in speaking Japanese has improved monumentally. An added bonus is that you join an equally motivated and engaging community that is also just as interested in Japanese language and culture!

Learning Japanese at the Nunawading Japanese School for the past 2 years has been an amazing experience. The teachers are extremely enthusiastic and bring a contagious energy to the class every week. The classes are fun and interesting while still challenging your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. I highly recommend studying here if wanting to learn Japanese.

Still going strong 8 years on with Japanese Tutor Melbourne and would have never been at the level with my Japanese if it wasn’t for the amazing teachers and school with the amazing curriculum they use. Thanks to my teachers I can speak with confidence in Japanese when I visit with anyone and makes travelling in Japan so much more fulfilling!Japanese Tutor Melbourne is fantastic! I started back in August 2015 and am amazed at the progress I have had in my Japanese studies, both in writing and speaking all thanks to Japanese Tutor Melbourne. The teachers are amazing, taking the time to make sure you fully understand each lesson and have actually taken it on board. If you’re looking for a great school for learning Japanese this is the best in Melbourne.

Nunawading Japanese School have extremely energetic and friendly teachers that help to keep motivation high while learning your second language. The group classes are thoroughly enjoyable and a great way to meet other people who are also learning Japanese. I gladly recommend this school if you are wanting to learn Japanese.If you want to get through a lot of content or move at a very fast pace for some deadline (travel dates booked etc.), you may want to start a discussion with them to accommodate that as the group classes naturally take a more balanced pace.I am having a great time and have no doubts you too will enjoy learning Japanese with the team at Nunawading Japanese School.
