City Community Children's Centre

Fantastic centre! My son has been attending for months and he has never been happier. 10/10 centre!

Had both of my kids go through here, from the baby room all the way to kindy. Fantastic centre, awesome staff. Can't recommend it highly enough.

In simple words - it's a hidden gem. I'm glad I found it. My daughter started here as a toddler and I was a single working mother. I would say I got the best support from educators and management in caring my child. She really loves to go there, how she wouldn't with such dedicated educators?They are amazing and many of them are longtimers. It is a community based, non-profit child care service operating for more than 30 years. I leave to work with peace that my child is in best hands. Knowing them for 4 years, I can say if you want experienced, high level care for your kid, this is the place.

My daughter has been attending this childcare centre from nine months old. She has absolutely blossomed under the genuine care and love she receives from all the staff here, not just the educators. The emphasis placed on sustainability, diversity, and celebrating First Nations Peoples is very important to me as a parent and I feel very happy leaving her in the care of these wonderful people.

Our daughter has been going to evening care at least once a week for nearly a year and we think it is a wonderful service. We both work evenings and it has been tricky with a young child, but it was great to find City Community Evening Care. Our daughter enjoys it and she is well looked after. It is very cheap compared to a baby sitter, after the government rebate. I highly recommend the centre and especially evening care. The staff are lovely and the centre is well equipt and well run. Sometimes we book her in just so my husband and I can have a special dinner out, which is such a treat, and we know she is having fun too.

When people ask my opinion of this centre I always say ‘the toys are well loved and so are the children’. After visiting many glossy, private centres I came across this little gem in the city, and I’m so glad we did, as they have become such an important part of our family’s support system. They operate on a foundation of respect, and this flows through the centre from the recycled toys and furniture to the amazing staff that have been there for a long time (some 15 years plus - so rare in childcare) and of course their care for our children. I frequently visit the centre to breastfeed my son and am always so impressed with the interactions I see between the staff and children. This centre really does feel like a community, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I am a shift worker who requires 24/7 child care and this Child Care Centre is advertised as having this available. After attending they advised me they are only open certain evenings and not on the wknd and even when they are open they don't really ever have any spots available and only from 6 pm which is useless when you start work at 3pm til 11pm ish... Not useful at all and it would be great if they could update what they are advertising as it is not correct!!

This centre is one of the best decisions we have made for our two children. It’s such a small, friendly centre where everyone is welcome. Their focus on each individual child and their needs, sustainability and the environment, and the wonderful educators who truly care for the children make it such a special community to be a part of. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Both our girls went here from baby room to kindy. The staff are wonderful, caring and nurturing. I recommend this centre and love that it is community based so my fees go back into the centre.
