My first time at Costa & co and I loved the way that they treated me from the moment I walked in they really made the effort to make sure I was happy with my end result and if I wasn't to let them know and where more then happy to fix... they also showed great team work, not only was my stylist great but I had a hand full of stylist helping and caring about the right way to treat my hair...Thanks guys keep up the awesome workXx

Walked in and asked if I could come in for a hair trim and shaping. My hair is a Fijian curly hair which means it’s very thick. I had my hair in a ponytail which I had flat ironed (not chemically straightened). Asked the gentleman if they’d like me to wash my hair before coming in for my 12 pm appointment. He said we can wash your hair here. Of course I was willing to pay for wash, blow dry, and trim. Came back for my appointment, had my hair washed about 3 or 4 times, but there was still some Vaseline in it. Helped out the hairdresser by brushing out my hair. (No detangling brushes or wide tooth combs) she kept saying she had 40 years experience and have worked with a client with my kind of hair before, so I wasn’t worried at all. However when she started straightening my hair of course there was abit of smoke as usual this happens when Vaseline is in the hair. So she stopped, and just said she couldn’t keep going but she’ll trim my hair. Not gonna lie I kinda expected hair salons to have a fair idea of how to deal with curly (Pacific Islander/ Afro hair) with so much information online nowadays. After she trimmed the ends, I had to braid my own hair. And of course they kept going on about Vaseline not belonging in hair. Frankly it was a pathetic excuse, the man (who was the boss apparently) should’ve just said when I first walked in that they have no clue how to deal with my kind of hair. So in the end I ended up paying $100 for a hair wash and trim. And having to listen to them go on about the Vaseline being the problem. Which honestly just shows how ignorant they both were about other types of hair. Honestly wished the hairdresser next to me had done my hair, she was trying to help my hairdresser who didn’t even try. So if your an islander or have thick Afro kind of hair I wouldn’t recommend this salon.

I have only been here once and don’t recommend unless you have a strong personality and not anxiety with hair. I had very long hair and I decided I wanted to get it cut just above the elbow as we were speaking I kept pointing to where I wanted my hair to be again pointing JUST above the elbow and every time I pointed she pointed a lot higher then what I was saying I brushed it off as her just not wanting to lean over me. Right before she cut the first strand she asked me and I said “I want it longer then that” she responded “ we spoke about this, but we spoke about this” so I figured she was doing what I said as she knew I had a lot of anxiety getting my hair cut for the first time professionally. She cut my hair just below my shoulders I’m not saying she did a bad job but I wasn’t listened to AT ALL even the front layers are longer then we said too every time I said something or my mum she would say “but we spoke about this already “ I’m not saying she’s bad at her job but if you are someone without a strong personality I would not come here :(

So friendly, beautiful walk along a board walk that has minimal impact on the forest floor. Quality information along the way provided all round knowledge of the fauna and floral, including Indigenous use! Excellent family venue from littlies to biggies and oldies with pram access.
