The food was amazing, had the best pasta of my life. The wine and beer list was exceptional. The host was super accommodating and friendly. Definitely worth the trip out if you're visiting the penguins in Low Head. Seriously can't recommend it enough.

Great place in Georgetown Tasmania to relax and try those authentic italian cuisine! Love the place. Would definitely recommend. I love my chai latte!❤️❤️❤️

tl:dr Incredible meals can be had in this unassuming location, with great atmosphere and conversation.My group stopped here passing thru George Town. We debated between a few places before settling on Don Mario’s.We were so glad we did!The menu has a lot of varied options to choose from. Mostly Italian as expected by the name.I had Mario’s Salmon and it was absolutely delicious. Very nice presentation, cooked to perfection, and accompanied by fresh sides.Others in my party had the fettuccine carbonara and the spaghetti bolognese. Both were excellent! The fettuccine was a little greasy from the sauce and butter towards the end, but not too heavy.We also finished with tiramisu and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.Both were also presented very beautifully and accompanied by fresh fruit and drizzle. The cheesecake also had raspberries in it.We were all very happy and ready to take on the next length part of our drive to the east coast!

Don Mario's is a 2 minute walk from YCC1870.Highly recommended, start the evening with a GnT, poured to perfection.We ordered the Lasagne and the Tassie Salmon, sides of fries and veggies.Both meals were large & delicious, super yummy fries, soft on the inside and golden crisp on the outside.Meals arrived timely and Hot !!No room for dessert so finished with an Affogato with a dash of Tia Maria...Oh La La Perfect on every level. 5 big stars Don Marios we are very happy to refer our guests.

Waited an hour and 45 minutes after ordering to receive our food. We had prebooked a table, but 3 extra people had arrived and sat at another table. The owner questioned this when we arrived, and we offered to add them to our already split tables, and she refused, saying we just needed to hurry up. So our pre-booked table was split into 3 tables, and spread across opposite sides of the room. In between our tables were 3 smaller, empty tables that could accommodate 2 people each, but these were allocated to other patrons. 2 tables finished eating 45 minutes before the 3rd table got their food. Even the waitress seemed concerned that we were being ignored. We all felt we were being punished for bringing extra people. Three tables (a group of 4, and 2 couples) all arrived 10-30 minutes after we ordered our food (which was approximately 30 minutes after our booking time), and they had received their meals (one couple even got dessert!) and finished eating 30 minutes before our food had arrived. We even watched 2 of our meals get delivered to tables who didn't order them. The staff returned the dishes to the kitchen, where they remained on a counter for a few more minutes before being brought out (they leave the kitchen door open with 4 staff visibly standing there doing nothing but watching customers get frustrated). After receiving our meals, which were filled with cheaper substitutes than advertised on the menu, poorly constructed, and had been passed to other customers in the store, we were rushed along to finish our meals - because lunch was over - we had made a booking at the beginning of the lunch period and sat there waiting for the entire lunch period.As mentioned by multiple other customers, the woman who appears to be the manager has a poor attitude toward questions, let alone criticism. We were charged $1 each for using eftpos - the manger says 'total of $49', proceeding to push an eftpos machine toward me that stated $50. The price on the counter, and as advertised by the menu was $49. I questioned this and received an eyerolll with 'it's a surcharge'.A very disappointing first experience for everyone involved.

Nice place with good atmosphere. Food is quite fancy. They have a seperate pizza menu you can ask for (forgot to take a picture sadly). The garlic pizza is great! The cheesecake and crème brûlée are also good.

Had dinner there on a Saturday night.two people dining. Had starter then main each plus two glasses of wine each. Came to $130. So a bit more pricey then I would expect. Food was fine - nothing special, just fine. Service was very good, lady was chatty and nice. Restaurant interior was straight out of the ‘70s with kitsch Italian furnishings. The environment did make it fun, however. Basic Italian menu, nothing unexpected except for the spring rolls!!
