Araucaria Falls
Nice walk, some uphill sections, the falls weren't flowing much this time of year.

A excellent little waterfall. A little tough climb going back up if you have knees problems but achievable. Just go steady. Will definitely be back a hidden gem. Camping looks awesome too.

Nice short walk. But you need a 4WD to get to the start otherwise it is a 4km walk to the start of the walk.

Great spot. We drove there in our Honda CRV. A 2wd city car would have been totally fine on the mildly damp roads. The steep bit after the little crossing (photo added) is tarmac! The little crossing was easy and shallow (100mm deep in the photos I added). I wouldn't want to walk the bit between the crossing and the start of the waterfall walk as it's not that interesting and is steep. The waterfall is lovely, the temp was about 4-5deg lower than say Brisbane so nice and cool. We'll worth the extra 10mins to go to the bottom of the waterfall. It's a slick hard packed muddy in places path with rocks and tree roots. Something better than sneakers would be appropriate footwear for this.

It was big and nice waterfall. The way to go there is challenging. I recommend you have to fit your body a bit. Not recommend to go after rain. It is quite dangerous. The way is steep and decline many parts of the walkway and there are a lot of spider webs. I think because not many people have been there recently. Some part of the walkway, plants nearly cover the walkway.

Araucaria Falls is a beautiful walk on a hot day. The temperature under the rainforest canopy is much cooler. The walk in is quite easy, and is suitable for small children (steeper in parts on the way out, but definitely not a hard walk). Care needs to be taken at the top of the first falls with kids. Once you reach the bottom you are greeted with a majestic waterfall with a clear pool that is normally about 1.4m - 1.7m deep. Perfect for a refreshing swim on a hot day. The rocks on the waterfall are normally not slippery so you can sit under the water easily. It is normally very quiet here so you can have some peaceful time alone. Watch out for the odd snake around the waters edge.

The falls is an approx 90 min walk from within a beautifully dense and lush rainforested area of the Main Range National Park. Access is via Lookout road.Didn't see a single person the whole trip. There's a small section that's quite steep as you descend to the falls so gets the blood pumping a bit. It might also be tricky if it's wet.Heaps of bird life around. It's quite elevated (approx 1000m) so it was great to walk in summer to escape to heat.

Absolutely magical place. Wouldn’t recommend for children under 5 years. So because though. Windy, slippery terrain.

Followed gps route for an hour and a half to get to a locked gate, 20kms from the waterfall location. Unsure as to how people have been going there
