It's a good place to learn about mining history in Bendigo..plus we can do some exercise. The park is a great edition as well..with modern + clean toilets, small gazebo with BBQ...heaps of bench! We love to go there for exercise and picnic as well.

Excellent hike around some of Bendigo's old gold mines. Not much remains nowadays but considering how much history this place is associated with, it's well worth a visit.

The reserve has a rest stop attached with toilet, bbq and multiple seating options available. There is a coffee van serving exceptional coffee for a very reasonable price, although you may have to wait a few minutes (as there is only one person making and serving), it is well worth the stop time. Behind the rest area is the Mining Reserve with a number of walking tracks and an old mining tower to climb and catch a glimpse of the 360° views.

Great spot to see just how extensive the gold rush was in Bendigo. 22,000,000 ounces of gold extracted, much from this exact spot, the hills are sprinkled with vestiges of a bygone era, whilst offering spectacular views of the city. There's a reasonable amount of walking to do, but following the trails, reading the history and soaking up the atmosphere are well worth the effort.

Victoria Hill mine, one of the deepest gold mines(1400+m) in the world was in operation for almost a century. The Bendigo view from the poppet head tower is truly amazing. The facility has ample car parking, rest rooms and a children's play area/ park. If you drive through the Coath street just across Happy Valley Road, one could see several historical landmarks and old mining relics from the golden days of the City. Anyone new in Bendigo should not miss this great historic marvel. Worth visiting!!!

If you would like to stroll back in time to the days miners eked out a living on the goldfields. I can recommend a walk thru history around the Victoria Hill Diggings Reserve. Here you will find a refurbished poppet head. See an old quartz crushing battery. And old mining foundations scattered around the site. Remember to bring your camera. Plenty of places to park with free BBQ and toilet facilities close by.There is no cost to enter and tour this site.

Lovely spot for a toilet break or to have lunch or a cuppa. Walking track to old diggings and poppet head. Memorial garden for those who died in the Black Saturday bushfires.
