Had a delightful mid morning meal here today. The coffee was AMAZING ✨ The best coffee ice had in ages!The lamb roti wrap was absolutely delicious. Looking forward to coming back to try the fish roti wrap. Cafe 299 is a fabulous addition to the Coorparoo cafe scene.

Absolutely delicious. Flavour profiles were exceptional. Spiced to perfection. I had absolutely no troubles as someone who usually orders mild diving into absolutely everything on the banana leaf feast and the roti curry.Small space with a few cosy tables. Service was efficient, polite and professional.It was our first time but we’ll be back! Thank you!

Don't let the name of this place fool you - you're sure to find yummy better than an ordinary cafe food here!Friendly service and staff, the chef is the real deal from Sri Lanka - I tried the lamb kottu (think fried rice but instead of rice there's cut up naan bread) + wood apple juice.My Sri Lankan friend said the texture of the kottu was just right - not too soggy or dry. Spice levels were on the spicy side for him and he loves his spice, whereas I really appreciated the flavour and texture of mine, spice read just right for me at medium (though I am Chinese Malaysian by birth)

Absolutely brilliant food and service. The lady that served us was super friendly without being overbearing which was really nice ☺️.We ordered the lamb roti wrap, butter calamari, and Ceylon kottu. Everything we ordered tasted fantastic. It all had a healthy amount of spice which the lady offered to tailor to our tastes. I told her to not hold back on the spice which ended up being perfect for me.The iced tea was also fantastic!*The lamb roti wrap photo is half the serving. We ate half of it before taking a photo oops.

Sri Lankan foodWe had a nice Friday night dinner with friends and this new cafe in Coorparoo. The food was well presented and reasonably priced. We weren't impressed with our order of devilled pork and devilled prawns - we thought it tasted too much like the Chinese sweet and sour dishes! The chicken curry was terrific and we thought that the lamb kottu was good too. BYO was a plus.

This place has really opened my eyes on what Sri Lankan food is. The restaurant was a small, cozy place with hospitable staff. The atmosphere was a bit limited but the food was amazing (we got the vegetarian options). The Falooda was great, it had a strong rosy flavour.Lots of food for a good price.We will come back.

A nice Sri Lankan restaurant located on Old Cleveland Road. Easily accessible via PT and with lots of parking available.The restaurant has freindly staff and a lovely vibe. The food is authentic generously portioned and well priced.I had the Nasi Goreng, which was well balanced and cooked, not oily, a nice amount of heat and full of flavour.Will definitely come back.

We ordered a number of dishes for a private party for 20 people at our place. We ordered a number of dishes from a bespoke menu that had traditional SL dishes. They were very tasty, authentic and our guests were delighted. Definitely will be back for more. Communications was also great and the staff were very friendly.
