The Magnolia Mansfield

I stayed here with my family for my 50th birthday recently. We stayed in the Burgundy room and I think we were the only guests at the time. First impressions were of a quirky historical homestead from the outside, with ornate features and lead roof. Inside was icy cold and felt a little unwelcoming.The owner (female) had been very friendly to my partner during the booking process, but upon arrival was very frosty and was quick to point out what we could and could not do in the house.We went up to our room which was quite nice, but the bathroom was incredibly small. You could not open the shower door and bathroom door at the same time and the basin was a cloak basin, impossible to wash your face/shave in.There was no wardrobe in the room except for a tiny rail by the door/fridge and unit with the crockery stored on it.We then turned on the heater as it was Baltic in the room and found we could not sleep due to the noise which vibrated through the entire top floor (roof) the (male owner said it was the shower screen vibrating and to jam it with a towel. I did and it wasn't!The next day new guests arrive and both heaters were vibrating! Bliss..Anyway I could go on, but on thye whole very disappointing attitude of female, room, bathroom, heater to cost.Positives, the male owner is a fantastic chef if you can afford to eat there. incredible food at a price!
