2nd best pizza I've had in Townsville. Meatlovers was lovely and crust just perfect, more on the thin size, so you don't fill up on bread.

Checkers Pizza
Go there only if you have plenty of time to waste. They will give you a wait time first which will never be correct and you will end up waiting 3-4 times the initial wait time they gave.Last time i was talking with a delivery driver who said he was waiting there for more than 25 minutes for a very small order (a few dollar order). He said he drove to there from around 5 kms away.

Came across this little gem whilst walking the Strand in Townsville. These guys serve up a delicious pizza with plenty of toppings for only $15. Well worth the trip if you're in the Townsville area.

Checkers Pizza
Was visiting Townsville and looked up Uber East for a pizza. Was very happy we found Checkers. Ordered supreme and garlic bread. Loved it. If you are a big eater, it would be best to get 2.

Checkers Pizza
Pizza is ok but variable quality so never sure if will be a good or mediocre one. In the couple of months, not sure what has happened but staff have become increasingly rude and unhelpful, and the pizza is never ready when it says it will be. This is the third time of my order being delayed by 20-30 minutes with no apology. Poor customer service and will avoid in future.

Checkers Pizza is a fantastic little pizzeria with alfresco dining. The staff are so welcoming, and all staff were smiles. The pizzas are all made with fresh prepared toppings and heaps of them. Refer to the attached photos of two of the selections.We come to Townsville every year, and this is guaranteed visit from us for one of our evening lunches.

Should have learnt my lesson from the first time I ordered there.First order experience through Doordash. They get one pizza wrong and forget to give us another pizza after a 2 hour wait. Had to go and pick up the missing pizza myself.Second order last Friday, 30 minute wait for 2 pizzas with only one other person ahead of us. We get our order and a worker tells us she ‘doesn’t know if she remembered pineapple on the Hawaiian pizza’. How?? Open the box and look? After waiting so long I could not be bothered asking for a new one. No substitute or anything was offered. Not even a sorry. Disgraceful service and will no longer come back. I recommend Tonys Pizza for great pizza on the strand.Edit: I’m sorry but I truly dont believe your response. How on earth is it Door Dash’sfault when YOUR staff forgot to include pizzas that were sitting in the kitchen??? Door dash employees simply get what is given to them??? And it is not a reach on my behalf to assume Door Dash took 2 hours because of how long it took in my in-person experience. It is embarrassing that you will not take responsibility for this.As I also stated in my original review, I was not going to ask for a substitute pizza as waiting for another would have probably taken another 30 minutes…. I had family waiting on me and it would have gone cold and wasted more time.I see you have also not apologised AGAIN for the terrible service… Thanks so much, I look forward to never coming back!

Waited 5 minutes for service, then waited over 40 minutes to find out they hadn't even started to make said pizzas = complete fail & never again.To make things worse, they weren't even a smidge busy (was the only customer there). Should've taken that as a sign.To give them some credit, they also run the icecream store next door where all the service was focused on. Still, a pathetic excuse.
