Derby Forest Cabins
Highly recommended!!! The owner Peter was friendly and welcoming, so was his dog. Peter recommend dinner spots in derby, interacted with my younger brothers, kindly offered to grab us food and drinks while he was out of town and was invested in making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our visit. The cabins are warm, clean, comfortable and fully equipped. The secure bike shed and workshop, laundry and common room area are unreal. The forest cabins is by far the best place I’ve stayed and all of it is complimented by the outstanding bush land and wildlife. Thanks a lot Peter, we look forward to coming back in the future.

Derby Forest Cabins
Pete and his dog tux are the perfect hosts. Pete put a lot of effort into ensuring that we had a comfortable stay, with a fire every night, the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had, and even a couple of cold beers in the fridge. The cabins were very cosy and the bush setting was serene. I’ll be staying here again sometime soon.

Derby Forest Cabins
I was with a group of aged mountain bikers, who didn't have all the skills needed for Derby. The Cabins are wonderful but its the owner who's the standout.One rider fell on her head & needed to go to hospital. Peter came to the rescue lent us a van & guided the rest of us so another accident didn't happen. Many thanks

Derby Forest Cabins
We booked all three cabins for 12 Mtb riders for 6 nights. It was a perfect base for for riding Blue Derby. The cabins each sleep 4 people in the most comfy beds and warm doonas, with air conditioning to keep us northerners warm. Each night was spent cooking together at the central gazebo with barbecue, having a few glasses of vino and playing games, or yarning by the fire. Our host Gareth was superb in communication in the lead up to the holiday, and wonderfully helpful with riding advice and any other help. Little extras like a washing machine, bike shed with tools and work stands made our stay so much easier. Being away from town in the bush was lively, and not a hassle at all getting to the trail heads. We are already organising next years trip.

Nothing to fault - fantastic hospitality, great amenities, awesome location. What an amazing place, if you are there to mountain bike or explore the region, this place is perfect. Away from the township, but close enough to go join the friendly locals at the Dorset Hotel. Loved everything about it and will definitely be returning.

We were lucky to find this little gem. Everything exceeded expectations. The facilities were well equipped for a our group stay. Great mountain bikers paradise, the cabins are well set up with bike wash and storage. Peter and dog Tux were the best hosts in Tasmanian!! They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Fabulous outdoor fire pit for an evening by the fire. Can't wait for our next visit.

My wife and I had a lovely few days staying here while mountain biking during the day. Well appointed cabins in a beautiful and peaceful forest setting. The cabin was clean and comfortable and between the cabin and communal areas, had everything one could need. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to return ourselves!

There is a reason the reviews are all great. Derby is a hub and buzzing with MTB'ers, the Derby Forest Cabins are the perfect place to base and relax after riding. Or just switch off.Peter and Hux are such amazing hosts and I already can't wait to go back, I stayed in St Helens as well as I like to explore and ended up back at Derby Forest Cabins it was soo good.If you go give Hux a pat for me.
