Sticky Rice Thai Wickham
I went to this place on my visit to Newcastle a couple of years ago with several friends and I was impressed by their delicious food. This time we dropped by for a quick lunch. Ordered the stirred fried vegetables with rice and Pad See Ew noodles from their lunch special menu. It was served quickly with generous portions. Food was tasty but a bit salty and I had to drink lots of water after the meal. Other than that, I was happy with our visit. The restaurant was nice and clean, and staff were also attentive and friendly.

Food was made beautifully and just the service was spectacular food was out in the first 30 mins while restaurant was completely full.Out of our group 10/10 people loved there food. They offer quick service which is much better then majority of restaurants in Newcastle I've gone too.The only think I didn't like were the seats with no back rest. After a nice meal I would like to lay back on a chair and relax.

Came here due to a decent review score, the experience was everything but that. Don’t be fooled. Not sure if the bar for Thai food is low in Newcastle, but this was a culinary wreck.Tom Yum soup was far too sweet, not sour at all. Definitely overpriced for portion size.The pineapple fried rice was overly salty, and there was probably as much MSG as pineapple by weight. Chicken pieces were not cut to a wieldy shareable size.The Siam Duck’s specialty sauce is more like 9 parts oyster sauce, 1 part hoisin sauce. Limited portions but there was probably enough sauce there to cook 3 more dishes. Definitely over-seasoned and unpalatable.The seafood special looked impressive at first, but that is all there was to it. Not sure why the seafood came in the form of a bird. There was hardly any seafood in it (definitely not local fresh as advertised). There was once again a smothering quantity of red curry paste. Red curry is amazing, but thick paste is not.Finally, dessert was extremely limited to 2 options and came very slow. For a place called sticky rice, the dessert of the same did not live up to its namesake.Overall, a very disappointing Thai food experience. Would not dine here. Definitely overdosed on the week’s sugar and salt recommended intake from one meal. Horribly overpriced.

Tried this place on a trip to Newcastle. The food is amazing. Generous portions. Love the squid and the Chillie fried rice. The staff was quite friendly and the service was efficient. They are located in a place where there is plenty of parking around. Will definitely visit this place when in Newcastle and craving Thai :D.

Our experience was very similar to the last reviewer.About 50% patronage so tables easy to find. Comfortable environment.The service was friendly and I noted not only our food but others came very quicklyI had a satay noodles and it was great, nice balance of noodles and meat/veges, hot but not enough to burn when you just want to eat! The Mrs had the Siam Moo Krob and enjoyed itParking was minor challenge but enough available on street with a couple of minute walkHappy to recomm and revisit when in the area

After advice from some friends, I booked in for my partners birthday dinner.Booking online was simple, I followed up with a call to see if I could get a nice table for the birthday dinner. They were helpful and friendly on the phone.The day of, I dropped off a cake to place in the fridge, they were very accommodating.Arriving at 7pm, service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very busy, with both in house guests and take away/ delivery orders. They seemed to manage the pace well.Once settled we ordered cocktails and entrees. Both were nicely presented and delicious. We ordered three dishes for mains (this ended up too much food for us). The dishes were fresh and real, good servings and lovely chunky vegetables. The Thai fried rice was great. Favourite was the mussaman beef, nice and tender, great flavour.They later brought out the cake with candles, turning off the restaurant lights and playing a birthday song. It was great. Thankyou.We left with a doggy bag, they gave us containers to take our still good amount of leftovers home.Criticism is due to the very busy nature, it was VERY loud. Uncomfortably loud at times. Other than that, an enjoyable birthday dinner.A nice restaurant with good quality Thai food.

Went to Sticky Rice for a Sunday lunch out and OMG, so glad we did. Was absolutely delicious, the satay chicken was perfect and the sweet & chicken just perfection.Service was wonderful, warm and very welcoming. Toilets available and they were clean and tidy.

Always outstanding Thai takeaway with authentic flavours & fresh ingredients. Sticky rice Wickham is always consistent with their offering and is the best takeaway Thai in Newcastle. Highly recommend!

The food here is authentic, fresh and delicious. Tried the chicken laksa and the chicken satay noodle. Both were full of flavour, fresh vegetables and great noodles. Not overly priced especially considering the serving size, which was very large. Would definitely come back.

Sticky Rice Thai Wickham
We visited lunch time during a school day, there were patrons but there were plenty tables so it did not feel crowded. Looking for a parking without having to cross the road was a bit difficult. We did not wait too long for our food to come out and when it did I was happy at the generous amount of food. I think the price is reasonable and the food is good.
