Rick's Dive School

I went on a dive at Kirra reef with Rick and had an incredible time. Not only being a few months since my last dive, it was also my first shore dive and he was very helpful and understandable. Amazing knowledge of the reef and marine life. Always checking in and patient when having difficulty equalising. Rick is a great person to dive with.

If you want a down to earth and no nonsense dive experience, Rick is the instructor to go to. His years of diving experience and his passion for the wild life leaves you feeling safe and wanting more. His one on one tours make you feel catered to and not like you are just a money maker. I wouldn’t dive with anyone else on the Gold Coast.

Me and my friend had an amazing dive trip with Rick. His equipment is the best I have been provided with so far, he is super knowledgeable and passionate. Rick made sure we got the best dive possible and will definitely go diving with him again when I am on the Gold Coast next.

As beginner divers, we had a great time diving with Rick. He gave us a thorough briefing at the start and pointed things out underwater to ensure we had a great experience. We will definitely dive with Rick again.

I recently did the Scottish Prince Wreck dive with Rick as my first dive as a certified diver. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Rick's knowledge means you don't miss a thing even though you feel like you need a 1000 eyes. I highly recommend doing a dive trip with Rick!Rick is a dive expert who loves the ocean and its creatures and it shows. I recently did my open water certification with Rick and I always felt completely safe. His knowledge is second to none and doing the course in small groups or 1 on 1 with Rick means that you really learn. His ability to find wildlife is incredible and just made me fall in love with the ocean even more. A shore entry in the rough is not for the faint of heart but getting through it is so rewarding. And as an amazing bonus he happily shares any footage he takes with you, so not only do have amazing memories you can make your friends super jealous by showing them the amazing things you saw. Looking forward to exploring more of the ocean with you Rick!

My friend and I had an incredible dive with Rick today, he was definitely one of the best dive instructors I’ve ever had. He is very knowledgeable and professional with many years of experience. He went out of his way to make sure every aspect of our dive was enjoyable. Under the water, Rick was very calm and made us feel safe. He showed us some amazing wildlife such as sharks, turtles, rays and cute baby Nemos! We hired all of our scuba gear from Rick and was pleasantly surprised by how clean, well maintained and up to date all of his equipment was! Pretty sad we are leaving the gold coast so soon but I’m looking forward to returning soon to do more dives with Rick!

Rick is a legend. He makes you feel confident and comfortable in the water. He also explains dive plans clearly and his knowledge of the dive sites and marine life present is the best I have experienced. His passion for the water shines through his work. He also hires the best dive equipment I have used. See you again soon Rick!

Rick was a fantastic teacher, very experienced, knowledgeable and easy to get on with. He was thorough, safe and went through things at a pace I could follow. He was happy to answer any questions or if I needed further clarification on anything I didn’t feel silly asking.I started the open water dive course theory feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of content, but this was soon put to ease after a session in the pool with Rick. This knowledge was further cemented with our four open water skills dives at Kirra. Kirra is incredible to dive - I feel so blessed this was my first diving experience. We swam with a huge array of wildlife.I have come out of it feeling confident diving and with an even greater love for the beautiful ocean and it’s inhabitants. I loved learning from Rick about what I was seeing and felt safe knowing he knew what we were looking at as we dived!Highly recommend completing your open water dive course with Rick’s Dive School if you love the ocean and are willing to learn!

What an amazing experience! I would recommend Rick for all of your diving needs. He was very informative, took us through everything we needed to know before the dive, and made sure we were comfortable during the dive as well. We saw tonnes of marine life, even a Turtle! If you are wanting to experience the amazing world underwater, I wouldn’t go past Rick!

I took the open water course with Rick and had one of the most incredible experiences. The course was from learning techniques to diving with turtles, rays, sharks and several other marine animals. At the beginning I thought I wouldn't be able to do it because I always had difficulty and panic in imagining myself underwater but Rick helped me and made me very comfortable with the equipment and I managed to not only complete the course but also to develop love for diving. I really recommend it.
