This is a great new restaurant. It’s hard to find good Indonesian restaurants. The owner of this establishment purchases excellent cuts of meat. I highly recommend the Beef Rendang. I enjoyed talking to the female chef after the meal. She explained to me that she buys master cuts of meat. Even though she pays a bit more, it’s worth it for the quality of the dish. I’m happy to support, local and female chefs. Will definitely be back.

We came for lunch. The foods are delicious. The pork belly has a wonderful flavour. The owners very friendly. Everything is good.

We had the nasi ayam goreng and beef rendang. Took a bite of food and said we need to give this a review because it was so good. It's unfortunately not picture perfect. Chicken was crispy, cooked to perfection; hubs said this was the best ayam goreng he's had. Rendang was tender and tasty. Staff was super friendly. We will be coming back!

Fabulous little cafe restaurant with some lovely Indonesian meals. The service is quick and friendly and the food delightful. We tried the ribs and the rendang. Rendang was lovely and mild and the ribs were phenomenal with the added spice. A real treat to the senses.

One of my absolute favourite spots to eat at in the North Shore area. Very authentic Indonesian flavours, maybe the best in Sydney. Family run and always super friendly. Have tried their Babi Goreng, Nasi Goreng and Mie Jawa, all were extremely delicious and can’t wait to try everything else on the menu!

*** An outstanding neighbourhood café ***After the demise of Le Paradoxe on this site, and the closure of two subsequent Japanese restaurants, you could be forgiven for thinking the place is cursed. Certainly that's what I thought of the empty shell every time I passed it.But then Jakarta appeared - and of course I had to try it since it's the only Indonesian place I can think of north of the Bridge. This is a family business run by Sumatra-born Mely, with help from her parents, Linda and Atay, and maître d', Gen.Coffee is by Aslan Coffee Roasters, based in St Peters. Beans are arabica from Sumatra and Sulawesi. I put away three flat whites.I tried the Mie Jawa first, and it was first-rate, with delicious wok hei and thick gravy. The cabbage was sweet and the prawns springy. Then I had the Nasi Babi Goreng Karo, which is sensational. Ask for extra sambal: it is full of makrut-lime leaves, with a nice heat that sneaks up on you. (You can also buy sambal to take home.)I'll be back again and again!Note: It's a narrow restaurant: If you want a group / family booking, best reserve one of the tables out the back.

Admittedly I’m not particularly well versed in Indonesian food, but walking past the shop has made me very hungry and we finally tried it for dinner one night.Everything we had was yummy, really liked the entre we ordered. You can taste the spice and wok chi in the dishes.Very friendly service.Definitely looking to come back :)

We visited this place for recent Saturday lunch and ordered few dishes e.g. Pork Satay (Binjai style), Fried Pork Belly (Karo style), Fried Noodle (Javanese style) and Fried Chicken/Prawn Meatballs. Since it was hot and humid day, we finished the meal with a cup of Doger Ice. The dishes on the menu represent food from various regions in Indonesia, which is really good for customers to try-out. We love all the dishes, especially the Fried Pork Belly, Satay and Fried Meatballs.Prices on the menu are reasonable considering good ingredients used and location in Sydney North Shore. Customer services from staff members are good for casual cafe in a suburb like Crows Nest. The place is quite small, so don't expect much of ambience. You can pay with credit cards (1.5% surcharge) or by cash (3% discount) - which is great options for customers.
