I enjoyed my experience with Dr Moon. She made me feel at ease immediately through her professional conduct, yet she remained friendly and courteous. I have a feeling she cares about each and every one of her clients. Thanks again Doc :)

Thank you to Dr Moon all the staff. I was able to get an appointment quickly to repair a broken tooth. It was a pain free experience and the staff where happy and friendly. I was extremely happy with the amazing service and the work completed on my tooth. Dr Moon is a very skilled dentist and I appreciated her assessment of required work to repair the tooth.

Dr Moon is a fantastic dentist. She took great care of me during my first experience with local anaesthetic and was very gentle while removing my wisdom teeth. Regular phone call check ups after my surgery have me feeling very well cared for. I would recommend Moon to anyone looking for a dentist.

In my first visit to Hervey Bay Dental in April 2022 (after moving from interstate), the customer service, the dentist (an Asian lady) and the assistant were good. In my subsequent 3 visits in late 2022, everything was disappointing (different dentist and staff). I kept on going there for a while because it’s within walking distance from home. It was a different dentist. I have been to the dentist at least every 6 months for many years and know the routines and standards. What I found shocking and disappointing is there was only one assistant who juggled assisting the dentist with dental procedures and being a receptionist at the same time. He kept on coming and going in the middle of procedures - so distracting and I felt not properly cared for. The dentist just made me sit there and open my mouth and did whatever he did but without communicating or informing me much about what was happening, assessment, findings or options. As part of the bi-annual check up, to my surprise he didn’t even check my teeth and gums thoroughly. I know how other dentists do proper checks and record the details - tooth by tooth - every bit of the gums, but he didn’t do any of that. He said, come back to do 4 fillings, which surprised me because my good trusted dentist who did the check a few months earlier didn’t even found issues or me needing more fillings - and I couldn’t see or feel any teeth problems either. I came anyway to be on the safe side. I had fillings before, which never hurt. All the 4 fillings done in this clinic hurt so much, some for weeks and some for months. I went back to tell the dentist about the ongoing long term pain, he said there was no issues. I asked if it hit the nerves, he said no because it was very minor and shallow. I went to another dentist in town and what a difference it made. He did thorough checks, fixed it so I didn’t feel the pain anymore. Not only that, he communicated and informed me so much about my teeth (not just the problem ones but thorough checks although I went there just to fixed the painful fillings), my gums, problem areas, tips to take care of them, options to treat them - so informative and educative like my dentist interstate. In Hervey Bay Dental I felt like I was kept in the dark with what’s happening and it didn’t make me feel safe, honoured (it’s my mouth, I have the right to know and I pay a lot for whatever they do), or respected that I have the capacity to understand it if it’s explained to me. I went back to the good dentist in town today for a filling - much bigger and deeper than those done in Hervey Bay Dental as I could see and feel it (missing a big chunk/chip of tooth impacting the gum). Amazingly, the procedure was smooth, the dentist and assistant were attentive and informative, and it didn’t hurt at all despite the dentist alerting me it could hurt due to the depth of the filling so close to the nerves. I recommend the dentist and staff in Hervey Bay Dental to learn best practice from others so people will have confidence in their service. There’s a lot of room for improvement. Good luck, but I won’t go back.

Dr Moon is an amazing dentist - gentle, caring and efficient. I have been to her several times now, for a broken crown, a broken tooth, fillings in my front teeth and cleaning. My teeth look and feel great now, and she did it without causing pain or anxiety (I am usually terrified of the dentist). The dental assistants are friendly and nice also. I will definitely recommend Hervey Bay Dental and Dr Moon to all my family and friends.

I stood and waited at the empty reception desk for 10 minutes, which didn’t really bother me, the young blond girl receptionist came out to take a customers payment. I told her who I was and she asked me to take a seat. Before she went back out the back, 2 daughters quickly grabbed her attention and asked how their dad was doing, she said he was getting an extraction (this conversation between them was absolutely none of my business but I couldn’t help but overhear) I thought to myself that there might be more than one dentist on the premises as I was not told there would be a wait. That was the last time we saw anyone at the reception desk for an hour. Customers came in, waited 10 minutes and left after being completely ignored (there’s no bell or window.) The phone kept ringing off the hook. An elderly gentleman came in and waited with his mask on for ages then got up and left. A mother with her young daughter waited for ages. There was no way for me to communicate with Hervey Bay Dental, they made it impossible for me to reschedule my appointment, which I would of been happy to do. After waiting an hour I had no option but to walk out. The same young blond receptionist girl phoned me saying the dentist was ready to see me (the phone call record shows it was over 1 hour past my appointment time) She tried to lie to me by saying I was told there would be a wait. I was not told a thing and there were other customers in the waiting room that can verify that I was not told there would be any kind of wait. I would of absolutely rescheduled my appointment if she had of communicated with me. All I wanted was a 5 second conversation with her to let me know.

I'm new to the Hervey Bay area and rang the Hervey Bay Dental clinic (during their advertised business hours) on their listed number to make an appointment. All I got was music (fairly poor taste I might add), no human (or automated) response asking me to hold the line. I rang twice and waited in total for about 5 minutes, without attention. Consequently, I rang a nearby dental clinic where the phone was answered immediately and I made an appointment.If Hervey Bay Dental can't manage their phones, I don't want to risk them with care of my teeth.

Update :After writing my review the receptionist contacted me the same afternoon that I was there. They offered to refund the difference. I gave them my bank details to receive the refund.A week later I still hadn’t received the refund so I contacted the practice. I was told it was going to be paid later that day . 30 min later I got a phone call from the owner saying he will only refund the overpayment if I remove my review.I explained to him that I feel that what he is asking was a form off bribery and I won’t be removing my review . But he could respond so it’s open and transparent to consumers that he rectified the problem. He told me I needed to come into the practice and sign a form to say I removed this review and received my overpayment refund.Hervey Bay dental can keep the overpayment as I believe consumers should see true reviews that reflect true business practices and I will not be paid off to remove a constructive criticism.I am a new patient this was my first time here , Went there today for a scale and clean, whilst in the chair the dentist asked me to open my mouth ( normal request as I’m at a dentist) before I realised what he had done a X-ray had been taken . He didn’t get consent from me to have X-ray done nor was it explained why he wanted to do a X-ray ( my teeth are almost perfect and I didn’t have teeth issues for X-ray to be performed)After my scale and clean was finished I went to reception as I have extras on my health cover HCF had advised I get 2 scale and cleans per calendar year hence why I made the appointment.I handed over my Hcf card only to be told HCF only pay $182 of the $290 bill . I told the young guy at counter that $290 was heavily inflated as I had seen local dentists charging half the price for the same service.After coming home I checked my facebook and found there add $99 for new patients for the exact service I had today. Called them up and asked why was I charged more only to be told I had to mention the exact facebook post to get the $99 special. WtafI will never recommend this dentist surgery. It was recommended by my partner as he had been seeing Dr moon for a whilst now but now that she has left I won’t be stepping foot inside and my partner won’t be going back . This place is all about how much money they can make not about looking after patients

I went to have a second opinion about a cracked tooth and was beyond happy with how I was treated and listen to about my issue. Having a dental phobia I was impressed with Dr Moon and how she treated me and explained everything that was happening when it came to having the tooth extraction. I am beyond impressed with the customer service and peace of mind I received.

Not a pleasant experience!Two clients walk in at the same time. I assumed that there might be 2 dentist. I was wrong. After a long wait its my daughters turn.She was booked in for a clean and check up. She was in the chair for about 8 min, I am not even kidding! The dentist said she needs two fillings. He cleaned quickly and we were on our way. Back at the counter, we waited a fair while to be helped by the receptionist. I had to go and look for her. She then wanted to charge me $173 for a clean. I did say no way! I was under the impression that children under 17 qualify for the medicare dental scheme. She advice me that when my daughter was getting her 8 min treatment that she contacted Medicare and that my daughter was not eligible. She then said but you have private health lets claim. So I did give my card and she claimed. Still leaving me out of pocket quiet a lot, and this just for a clean?! Luckily I did recall that on the website they advertise $99 clean and check up. So I told her that but her response was no its only for new patients". Well This was definitely our first and last time in that clinic!! She then typed and typed and then said ok I will discount the gap.Why do you feel the need to over charge people? Life is already expensive. You try and do the right thing for your kids health and others take advantage of it. So very sad. Hope others are not caught in the same trap!!"
