Port Stephens Shell Museum
This is the smallest museum I have ever seen. But so much shells to look at. I bought one big shell only costs $14. And shell animals $2.5 each. Lovely experience.

A privately owned small facility with ampol collection of shells and antiques that you can touch and buy. There is a little entry fee of 50c per person that's been waved for us by the kind owner of the place. The small museum is full of different types and sizes of shells and information. The kind elderly owner even keen to answer your questions and share his knowledge and experience too...Definitely worth a visit....

Located in the serene coastal town of Port Stephens, the Shell Museum is a true testament to the passion and dedication of shells collection! The museum is actually an elderly couple’s dwelling. Its impressive display of shells from all around the world, meticulously organized and expertly curated, is proof for their fanatic hobby and passionate lifelong pursuit of shell collection.Upon entering the museum, one is struck by the remarkable range and diversity of the shell collection on display. The museum's extensive collection ranging from the common local finds to the rare and exotic from Asian coasts and Mexican gulfs, is a sight to behold. Each shell is showcased in all its natural glory, with the intricate details and colors of each specimen expertly highlighted. It was so overwhelming that one can tell the owner’s love for the collection is palpable, adding to the intimate and personal nature of the museum. The owners of the museum are gracious hosts and we were met with warmth though Arthur the male host was not very talkative.I highly recommend the Shell Museum. It’s great for families and kids and is a must-visit destination for anyone with an appreciation for the wonders of nature and the beauty of shells. The owners' passion and dedication shine through in every detail and deserves recognition and encouragement. Our visit was an enlightening experience and I walked out with $60 of goodies which are beyond their worth!

Port Stephens Shell Museum
Small museum packed full with interesting items from all over the world (3 generation of family's collections). You might easily drive past the museum as it looks like an ordinary house from the outside. The place is operated by owner who is very nice and friendly. There are also many shell related gift items on sale. There are 3 parking spots at the front or plenty of free street parking.
