Gwydir River
At one of the campgrounds right on the river, with all they have had just recently, the water was so clear you could see the bottom. Very cold last night so bring your Oodie.

Gwydir River
The Gwydir River runs through Gum Flats Reserve, river water level low but still enough for fishing and boating. The river banks are beautiful studded with gum trees. Very peaceful and tranquil place.

Good free camping spots beside the river. Stay in the high one if a lot of rain expected.

gum flat campground is the best spot I ever camped plenty of spots and shade plus a nice creek to take a dip

Great free camp which is suitable for large rigs. Dog friendly and there is plenty of space to park along the river. Fire pits are allowed. Would certainly come back to this area again.

It was only a passing visit we did not stay, as rivers go, yes it was beautiful, but we were moving to avoid bushfires.
