Great venue & atmosphere and great service with friendly locals. Food has always been restaurant quality. Perfect meeting place for young families but at times a little pricey for a family tavern.

Great atmosphere and casual dining option in the area. Reasonably priced with tasty food. Great kids menu for families. Popular with locals. Quick and friendly service from both bar staff and waiting staff. Pool tables, outdoor and indoor seating. Don’t forget to ask for the discount on a Wednesday! Also recommend booking a table if you know you are going as it gets busy!

A good place to eat. The carpet is straight out of the 80’s. The salmon was very yummy! The parmmy is the size of your head and very tastey

We ate outside, it was nice. The food was good, had the kale falafel with pickled veggies and avocado, the steak sandwich and the boiled soya chicken and everyone was happy with the food. It took almost an hour to get the food, so the service is very slow, because apparently the orders are not prepared in order ?

Okay, I don't want to be dramatic, but the food at the Empire Bay Tavern is unreal! The burramundi and the salmon was so delicious and the lamb cutlets and pork cutlet was dead set devine. Price is quite reasonable for the quality of the meals

Good quality modern pub food. We went for lunch on Sunday afternoon and were served pretty quickly. Food was nicely presented and generous servings. Kids really enjoyed their meals too. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a kids playground.

The experience was pretty poor. Two of our party had eaten there previously and recommended it. This was before the place embarked upon renovations making it now seem like a cheap RSL club without poker machines. Upon ordering we were told it was a 45 minute wait for food. When it got to an hour we questioned the delay and we’re then told it was an hour and 15 minutes.Not sure it this was a deliberate strategy to encourage patrons to order more drinks or if the kitchen really was overwhelmed.It wasn’t worth the wait. The fish and chips were dreadful, over cooked and not sure what kind of fish it was. The steak was burnt on one side and raw on the other.One of my co-diners commented it was poor pub food served at high quality restaurant prices.Very disappointing.

Big Tavern, family friendly...the staff and food were faultless...a pleasure to eat here, kids enjoyed the experience. The food was quite exceptional. Pub food done extremely well. Plates were left clean.

Awesome pub, exactly as you would expect. Not too many venues in the area around so finding something that is exactly what it should be, is great. Much prefer the food here to the Hardey's Bay Club down the road.Great kids playground which suits kids from about 1.5 - 10 years old.Food is your pub classics which is exactly as you expect. Beers and wines are cold. They have locals (who are regular people not necessarily the high end tourists you find down the road of which we were one lol).Just good to relax with the chilled out vibe the venue gives off.Highly recommend with a solid 5 star rating!
