I came to see Brendan in desperation after a long history of pain and issues connected with my right fourth toe. Following a series of operations and now more recently, the threatened potential of an amputation, my visit to him was, in a way, my last resort as I had exhausted all other possibilities. I was hoping he could shed new light on the mystery of my pain before I succumbed to the drastic measure of losing the toe altogether. I was not disappointed and I wish he had been my first resort. Brendan took no end of time and patience to ensure he had all my history as he tried to piece together what might be going on. He reassured me that there were several things I could do (which no other foot practitioner or podiatrist had suggested before) and advised a course of action, step by step, so that I could start to walk again with ease and aid my toe in the best possible way of making what recovery it could. His listening skills were excellent and I felt truly heard as this toe, no matter how small, had caused numerous problems for me mechanically affecting my pelvis and hips too. Brendan looked into the bio-mechanics of the structure and way I was walking given that I was compromising in part due to pain. He created a support for my toe and a metatarsal bar which has eased the ligament (and Morton’s neuroma - which I also have) and for the first time I am now able to wear a closed trainer, walk evenly and have no hip pain. It has freed me up no end to the point at which I am no longer so guarded about what I can or can’t do each day. I cannot recommend Brendan highly enough! THANK YOU!
