The Sustainable Salon

Wow, The Sustainable Salon is amazing, I highly recommend it. Diego is an absolutely amazing hairdresser. I have very fine hair that is easily damaged, Diego colours with such care that my hair is glossy even after being lightened. You will not be disappointed!

Unfortunately had an unpleasant experience at the salon. All the previous times I had gone (when a hairdresser called Jenna was working) were great but I went for an appointment recently and was quite upset. So one extra star for Jenna and a nice environment.Firstly, the young lady cutting my hair offered to style it and she ended up adding two things - salt spray AND some sort of styling cream and spun my hair into ringlets which ended up being pretty bad in my opinion. It seems kind of contradictory. That's not really that bad but it certainly doesn't soften the blow...I came for PAY AS YOU FEEL, which I had in the past as a student that couldn't afford an expensive cut for my hair type.I get to the counter and they want to charge me $85, more than I had expected and I had to ask them to repeat it and what happened to the pay as you feel.The top hairdresser (think he's the owner) told the young lady working there that they were 'understaffed' so this was the flat rate I was getting charged... I paid it but checked later they still had the pay as you feel thing up on the website during the times I booked my appointment. I would say if you are coming for pay as you feel, be CAUTIOUS with the pricing considering they didn't update their pricing or inform customers during this 'understaffed' period. I am so so disappointed and after referring many of my friends to the salon, I will be sure to tell them what happened so they don't get what I feel was a rip off and unethical.

Diego went the extra mile to Solapur and style my sister's hair on shirt notice. He did an amazing job and she's thrilled with the result.

Diego is a very skilled hairdresser and he uses non toxic colours, I am really happy with the way he cuts my hair and styles it. I strongly recommend his salon!

So happy!! I was so nervous to have a colour done done because in the past it has ended badly for me but Diego definitely knows how to use colour! My colour is perfect! Great cut! Great conversation! All with a sustainable philosophy. Just beyond happy. This is officially my Sydney go to!

Very simply put Diego is the best hairdresser in town and is the only one that I would ever let cut my hair. Decently priced and a very comfortable place to be. A truly Lovely guy and fantastic customer service ❤️

I really like the ethos for this salon but unfortunately that's where the praise stops. My haircut was overpriced and I wasn't thrilled with it, I only got a slight restyle and it cost much more than I would have expected. I had a clear idea of what I wanted the style to look like but the stylist didn't cut it how I asked. It was also a little awkward. I tried making conversation but it wasn't reciprocated so I just sat listening to the other client chat away to their stylist for an hour and a half. The salon itself is beautiful but the service could be improved.

Diego has been styling my hair for 10 years, amazing, sustainable and he makes a lovely cup of tea!

I go to the hairdresser once a year and decided to go while visiting Sydney. Diego is very professional and delivered a great cut + highlights. Love the sustainable practices! This salon should be a benchmark for other ones. Would definitely recommend.

Diego is the master of his craft. Best hairdresser I’ve ever had and one of the nicest guys, so much so that I now call him a mate. Been going back for 10 years and through those years he has always kept me looking fresh even as my hair thins haha.I’ve recommended him to so many mates who have all continued to go back knowing they are guaranteed the cut and style that are looking for. Diego is the guru. You’ll not be disappointed, get in there and he’ll have you looking better than you’ve ever looked before.
