I was quoted $220/hour to move, I asked Evan if he would look at my furniture that I needed him to move so he knew what he was up against, he said it wasn't necessary, he estimated the hours required, on the day he arrived he informed me he had another job on the same day as mine that he hadn't told me prior, he also told me there would be 2 people doing my move but arrived with 3 (one of which was clearly brand new to the job) and it wasn't until the end that he tried to up the price to $250/hour, the job was very rushed and I said just take the big stuff and I will take the rest, Evan slagged me off to his employees about not having my things packed enough although I said I had done my best with the time i had.Here is the list of damage done to my furniture by Evan and his crew:2 doors damaged on my near new fridge/freezerGouges to a bookshelf and covered in dirty handprintsDamage to our bedDamage to my roller cabinet toolboxBroken spacers on my clothes dryerAnd 2 chunks from a corner of a wall in a doorway in the house we moved out of- so I had to apologise to the new owners for that.Out of all of that damage the fridge/freezer was my main concern and I had photo's of it in perfect condition from the same morning of moving and Evan still tryed to deny that it was him and his crew that damaged it, I was told that I would have to pay the insurance excess and in the end I had to settle for Evan paying half the cost of the repair (repair cost $575) and after a lengthy battle over email's Evan agreed to pay $285.He was so rude and unprofessional towards me hence the reason for my review, had he not tried to charge extra after damaging a lot of my furniture and springing the extra cost at the end of the day and if he had owned up to his mistake's and paid the full price for the fridge/freezer to be repaired I wouldn't have left any review, I was not asking for compensation for all of my damaged furniture, just the 1 item.Next time I will hire a truck and do it myself like I did the previous time.The reason I chose Evan to move my furniture was because the reviews look good, now I know better. My advice is do your research, find someone willing to pay their own excess because when paying a lot of money for a service, you should know that your belongings are covered and the removalist should be confident they won't damage your furniture.
