Eye clinic (Ophthalmology), Westmead Hospital

Incompetent receptionist somehow just forgot to put my mother's name on the waitlist after we checked in. Only got added onto the waitlist after a patient who arrived after us got called up first and we asked about it. Didn't even get the courtesy of being moved up to the top of the waitlist despite having arrived almost 3 hours earlier than some of the current patients being called. Ended up being one of the earliest patients to come yet the last to leave. What a gigantic waste of time.

My husband and I attended his eye operation for the removal of his cataract at the Eye Surgery in Westmead. We have been waiting for this appt for 14 months which is quite overdue. We came half an hour early around 10am for this procedure knowing that it will be done sometime around 1pm. I enquired around 2:30pm asking what time was the procedure but the receptionist rudely ask me if I receive a call from them I said no then she ask me to sit down gesturing with her hands rudely. The fact that I only ask the time of the procedure and she didn't really answer my question correctly, I found it to be condescending and lack of compassion. This person should watch how she handles patients and their carers. How is she being employed in this type of premises with this kind of attitude. Quite disappointed with this service at the reception.
