I have never written a bad review about any hospitality service before, this time l thought l had to as our experience with Brendan was something l never want to experience again and hope no one else has to either.We had two cancellations due to the river flooding which unfortunate. We had no communication about this and had to continually chase Brendan as to what was going on. Not one email in a year and a half.When it came time to board the houseboat in May we arrived to angry host because we were 10 minutes late. We were late because once again we were not sent any directions on how to get to the house boat mourning. Brendan’s comment to me was ‘ we’ve been waiting here for 20 minutes’ in an angry tone. After doing the paperwork my guests arrived and Brendan got angry at him because he parked in the wrong place. Not a good way to start our $8,000 holiday.The whole time through the year and a half l found Brendan to be very arrogant and submissive. I understand the river had been affected by the flooding but this is no reason to be taking it out on paying guests.The state of the broom closet was unacceptable as when we ran out of gas it was difficult to get the electric panels to reprogram the board. The boat was full of mould and not clean.On returning we were overcharged for gas and fuel. We were told by Brendan it would cost around $700-$1,000 for diesel and he charged us $1,450. We noted when we boarded the boat that the fuel gage was on 3/4 full and didn’t think much of it at the time. We ran out of gas on the last day of our holiday and had to get some one from Mannum to come and change the gas bottles. The owner apologised to us because he said he had been sending gas bottles back to the boats empty by mistake. So we knew we didn’t use all this gas. When l questioned Brendan about this he was extremely rude and told me we must have left the spa on which we did not and even if we did we wouldn’t use that much gas.Extremely disrespectful, humiliating experience. Never again with this company.

Fabulous week on the Murray with Whitewater Houseboats. Boat was great and Brendan and Murray wonderful to deal with. Brendan picked us up from and dropped us back to the airport and arranged visit one of the days to Henschke and Barossa for lunch. Highly recommend.

My family and I hired Absolute Bliss from White Houseboats for a week in late September 2022. We had an absolutely amazing time and can wholeheartedly recommend the experience to anyone thinking of exploring the Murray River by houseboat. Brendan and Madeleine are very helpful and friendly hosts which made planning for the trip a breeze. Brendan picked us up in Adelaide and transported us to Mannum via a supermarket stop for provisions which was very convenient, definitely recommended and good value compared with trying to do the road trip by taxi or rental car. This was our first houseboat experience and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Absolute Bliss was very well appointed with all the modern conveniences and comfort features you could wish for. Our hire commenced and finished at Mannum Waters Marina where White Houseboats are based and during the week we made it as far upstream as Swan Reach. This section of the Murray River turned out to be a fantastic choice for house boating, the scenery is spectacular and we really enjoyed the plentiful wildlife. We also found it easy to plan our time and very relaxing with just a few hours of motoring each day and then finding a nice river bank spot to moor for the night. Awesome holiday, we’ll be back! A wonderful 4 night trip from Mannum to Walker Flat and return. Heaps of interesting sights and can't believe the water levels in the flood of 2023! Great fun and found Brendon and Murray to be top blokes.

Spent the long weekend on White Water Houseboat. It is a fabulous boat, superbly appointed, with everything you could possibly want onboard. Comfortable and spacious. The boat show out and driving tuition was excellent thanks to Murray. Contacting the owners Madeliene and Brendan was easy and their attention to our enquiry and booking was fantastic.

We were a group of 7 hiring the Flatwhite for 6 nights. Brendan picked us up form Adelaide stopped for us to get in all our supplies as well as dropping us back after our houseboating. Thanks for that. The stay on the boat was most relaxing just watching the world go by from the top deck or the comfy couch in the lounge area. The Flatwhite was clean and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. Having 2 bathrooms (boys and girls) was great. It was our first experience houseboating and Brendan and staff gave easy to follow instructions. Thanks for supplying the space to enjoy such a beautiful part of your country. The scenery changing every 5 minutes at dusk and dawn were amazing.Thanks Brendan for an awesome holidayJean.

We had a lovely week long stay on “Dream Weaver”, over Christmas 2021. We went with our 3 boys & our eldest sons partner. The kayak hire is highly recommended, and we had lots of fun exploring the backwaters with them. Being dog friendly, we took our 9 year old heeler as well, making it truly a “family holiday”. A unique Christmas that we will never forget!

The boats are spectacular, regardless which of the 5 you choose. All have been really well looked after and maintained at the highest standard. Each boat has a large gas heated spa on the top deck, which makes taking a holiday on the river even in winter so much better than just the spectacular scenery. The boats are equipped with everything you could possibly need or think of, and music videos are a must. The management team are fantastic, explain everything during the show out and answer all your questions, going above and beyond to ensure everything goes well for your trip. Each holiday I have had on one of the 5 White Houseboats has been great and I always look forward to going again. Highly recommend! I almost forgot, you can take your pets!

We hired the Dream Weaver houseboat for a weekend getaway in August and it was very easy to book and pay deposit and bond. Checkin was easy and thankfully was offered a few hours earlier enabling us to get up river before dusk. The houseboat was very easy to manoeuvre and park, the automatic gangplank a great feature while all facilities worked as expected. The spa was well utilised, as was the BBQ and ice box. This is our third trip on houseboats in past 3 years, all with different companies, with White Houseboats being the easiest to deal with and the one with the most manouvreable boat, and only one with automatic gangplank. We would hire this boat and use the company again. Thank you Brendan.

It was our first time hiring a house boat. Upon arriving at the marina we were greeted by Brendan. We boarded the beautiful Dreamweaver. Murray was very informative. He went through everything we needed to know on how to drive and moor the houseboat safely. Its was just stunning, cruising up the Murray. Very relaxing, chilling in the spa, the kids kayaking on the river. It made it the perfect getaway for the weekend. We will definitely be back. Thank you Brendan & Madeline
