Minden Retreat

Relaxing retreat where we were able to experience our event to the fullest by being able to have choice in type of accommodation from camping through to motel. Cooking could be done on a contained wood fire, camp stove or in the comforts of a shared kitchen with the appliances ready waiting and a big walk in cold room

Had my wedding at Minden retreat just recently and it is a beautiful venue with amazing potential however I was quiet disappointed with some aspects with the venue1. The bunkhouses don’t have linen included which was an extra added stress I didn’t need as I had to go and buy sheets, blankets, pillows and pillow cases for my guests staying which was 20 people, the venue sleeps up to 100 so not having linen provided or even a hire company available to get linen is just ridiculous2. The “commercial” kitchen does not have any crockery, plates, cups or any cutlery not even a spoon or knife and to me this is also quite ridiculous to have a commercial kitchen but nothing in it not even a microwave3. The grounds were not as clean as they should of been for a wedding, the pool was completely locked so we paid for the whole venue when we couldn’t even access the whole venue, their first aid kit is not properly stocked we got a bandage out of the first aid kit for a guest and it discinigrated into dustThis venue has a lot of potential if the time and the money is put into itIt’s a beautiful area in a great location however the venue does need to be updated and needs work

I love the venue for my wedding day, but as for the motel rooms , I was very disappointed to be told by my guest there was no soap in their rooms for their showers, the dorm rooms smelt and all doors and windows had to be opened to air them out. We had no spare toilet paper in the womens toilets, which guests was very upset about as well. So if you decide to use this venue for your wedding or any party please make sure you check about soap in motel rooms toilet paper and that dorms dont smell. Swimming pool was also dirty unswimable, which was very disappointing too.

Good venue BUT....Mack the caretaker needs to clean the place up instead of thinking he is important,every room is old and out dated but comfortable the so called industrial kitchen is very very dirty range hoods covered in thick greasy dust no oven trays so we couldn’t use the oven,no cutlery no plates or cups,the walk in fridge is a disgrace dirt everywhereSeptic toilets stink so rank don’t even use them you are better off going in the Bush,rotten wood on verandas,decking and stairs everywhereNo real facilities for children, a pool that’s half empty with no chemicals to clean itA basketball court that’s covered in tree branches and mud,hoops are broken the fence rusted and brokenMinden Retreat only gets 1star because I have to give them 1(no option for zero) if the owner is serious about this place then get rid of Mack and invest some money in the placePS I wish I could load photos of the stuff I’ve described,visit before you book

Went to a lovely wedding there. A lovely environment.

Brisy tribute bands meetup group hold a great 3 day music festival twice a year.

Toilet and shower could do with updating and more of them but a good place for a music venue

Tidy rooms but really need airconditioning for all rooms. No fans or flyscreens.

Such a great spot for total relaxation and great camping facilities. Even the odd music experience

Greatest time to enjoy a wedding attended by family and friends recommend highly this place of interest
