Kambalda Hotel & The Nickel Bar

We stayed one night at the motel after not being able to find accommodation in Kalgoorlie. While the hotel and room was old, it was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The food at the bar next door was great (HUGE parmie). I would recommend considering Kambalda if you’re visiting the region. Everyone should see the view from Red Hill lookout and this hotel will only get better with more visitors.

Wow, were we disappointed, we booked a room for three adults, and you wouldn't believe what we got, we were astonished to see the room, it had separate kitchen,bathroom, and bedroom, the only problem is you wouldn't let your cat stay it was so bad. When we complained we were told nobody else had complained!! Needless to say we left very quickly.

We booked one night in this motel a week ago. FALSE ADVERTISING is an understatment. Looked nice on the website, but it turns out the Web page is from the previous owners. The pictures must be from decade's ago because it doesn't look anything like the pictures. The pool was empty ( and looks like it has been for quite a few years). The room they gave us was disgusting. The ceiling was caving in around a vent in the kitchen. The shower was so dirty I wouldn't wash my dog in it. The toilet leaked across the floor in the bathroom, and the entire room smells like damp. The reception lady tried her best to act really surprised when we complained about the room. It's was quite obvious she was being deceitful. Like she didn't know there was anything wrong with the room. Needless to say, we asked for our money back and managed to find another place to stay. The receptionist claims that the previous owners haven't taken down the website since they sold the place. I would say that the new owners are not exactly chasing them down to take the website down, as it tricks people into still wanting to book this hotel. Please avoid booking this place. These people shouldn't be allowed take advantage of people in this way. I will be reporting them to the appropriate athorities for this scam of a business they are running.

Good old Aussie pub. Well priced meals and friendly staff. All drinks were nice and cold and there was a good selection of beers on tap. Pool table and arcade games as well as an outdoor smoking area. Large bar and clean ablutions. There is plenty of parking available for patrons.
