Red dog memorial is located at the entrance to there Dampier Peninsular and the suburb of Dampier. The dogs ears are rubbed gold from everyone rubbing them for good luck!

A lovely introduction to Dampier. The boys loved the Red Dog Statue. The signage could do with a revamp though.

Loads of history on this place. 'Red dog' also made famous as a movie of the same name. (better liked than the founder of Dampier), who by the way, does not have a statue. But the dog does.Well worth this interesting visit.And 'Sam's island' another great piece of brilliant history to see as well.

Dampier peninsula has a beautiful coastline great for boating or kayaking around one of the many islands.Town looks very run down alot of what I assume are old or possibly current dirty miners quarters/buildings are a bit of an eyesore.
