Had a lovely wine tasting with a group of friends. Capital Wines has to be one of our favourite wineries in the Canberra area (the Sangiovese is a favourite!) and very cute Canberran labels. We will be back!

As soon as we walked in it felt like I was in an episode of the Twilight zone. Not a great venue or atmosphere for wine tasting and the tasting session very disjointed with 3 different vineyards represented and some wines not on the tasting sheets. Manager not very welcoming or nice to his staff.

Capital Wines
We came for the Epicurean Tasting and it’s been spectacular. Each course well matched starting with “The Whip” Riesling paired with honey drizzled Gorgonzola cheese - a beautiful starting wine followed up with equally lovely food and more fantastic wines. We’ve tasted both the Ministry Series and Single Vineyard Wines and will be taking home a mixed case or two. Thank you. Excellent.

Epicurean wine and food tasting experience is great, and fantastic value.Four tasting dishes with matching wines, and dessert/wine optional. The food was delicious and the chef provided amazing gluten free option. The setting is relaxed and intimate and we had a great time. Our group really liked the wines, which are also reasonably priced - a box came home. Capitol Hill tasting room is not at a vineyard, but in the lovely historic town of Hall. We couldn't believe our discovery and will be back.

We had the epicurean experience. The wine service was exemplary however the food service & food was well below par . The server was touching the rims of the soup & the parts of the cutlery that went into mouths . The final course was cold & when returned was inedible because of the microwaving . The lamb was tough enough before ‘reheating’ ! . Overall a disappointment!

Bill and the team at Capital Wines were extremely prompt in the delivery of the wine we ordered, within 24 hours to our door both times! The transformation of Capital Wines has given the venue a lovely refresh and I would highly recommend - a worthwhile visit.

Website, google and signs out the front say the cellar door is open Mondays 10.30 to 4 however I found it closed on Monday around noon.

Great serviceI ordered bottles of sparkling wine as corporate gifts. Capital Wines arranged free speedy delivery to my office first thing the next day. I’m really impressed with the friendly and professional service. I sampled the sparkling before buying - it’s delicious! Love the Canberra themed labels. Great gifts for local and interstate clients.
