Benowie Walking Track. This is a local walk for me. I usually start this walk from the end of Quarter Sessions in Westleigh.(Firetrail access near number 294 to Western Trail that connects to Benowie Walking Track), but there are many access points. You turn right on Benowie track towards Fishponds.I usually make it a return walk to and from Waitara Creek (photo) where you often can see water dragons.

This is a great area to take a bush walk or a hike. There were a lot of people trail running while we were here. There are many areas to park up and take different return routes to your starting point. You can start from Hornsby station and walk to the track. Although after some heavy rain the area isn’t the most pleasant to see. Rubbish is washed through the water. It is still enjoyable to go here and get away and forget where you are. Would recommend.

Large boulders worn by water into fantastic shapes. Climb on top to meditate or eat lunch. A sandy beach is minute or two downstream. Always cool in the heat. Sheltered from wind. Water quality is not good enough to swim but the water is clear even after rain. Plentiful ferns, flowers and birds. Few weeds. Very little rubbish.

Nice little walk from end of Quarry rd in Dural.Takes 30-40 mins.Pay attention to the sign as you can’t swim due to the contamination in the water!Very lash and green along the river.

It's an ok location. I preferred the walk in the bush. If you are around the area is worth checking out.

Nice walk about an hour for a return trip. The sign that says 300m to fish ponds is a bit deceptive. Feels a lot longer than 300m, prob another 15 mins walk from there.

Intermediate hike through beautiful bush and very steep terrain. There’s carved rock steps and the occasional handrail. The ponds feature two large water bodies surround by interesting rock formations and separated by the fun concrete stepping stones.Well worth the hike.
