Like Family

I’ve been doing social caring for a a fair few months now. In all of those months I’ve had appointments set on wrong days and I turn up e.g clients that are fortnightly weekly , I’ve had the company double book a client I drove there to get sent home once the other carer got there, I’ve had multiple appointments get fixed after they keep putting my usual clients that are fortnightly weekly, I’ve had them add days without asking and without my notice, and to top it off the communication is horrendous, They don’t tell my clients things they need to know. It’s gotten to a stage where the company it’s self doesn’t talk to me or contact me back anymore and I am fed up.

Highly recommend joining Like Family platform as it connects you with a variety of people with different needs and hobbies. Members whom I work with currently are very friendly and have a learned a lot about ways of supporting them and tailoring their days around what they enjoy. As a suppprt worker with Like Family, I am confident that these skills will only grow with the relationships that I make with members.

I have found each customer care staff member that I have interacted with, to be beyond reproach in the proactive support and assistance that they all generously provide. They are accessible, kind, helpful, supportive and efficient with all enquires. They always offer good relevant advice and assist me when I am struggling with the glitches of me and technology. I am very impressed with the staff of this agency.

Beware of this cheating business under the name of “Like Family”! I joined them a few months ago (Dec. 2022) and I found they offered only 5 free Meet&Greet(interview) with my potential support worker. From 6th meeting, they will charge me with their rate. Because all other support worker platforms never charged any one for Meet&Greet even though all are money-oriented, I am on market for 3 years. “Like Family” is extra greedy. More surprisingly, my Like Family worker told me that Like Family paid them for Meet&Greet as company’s benefits! I call them an get their manager, initially he agreed that that’s Like Family benefits to support workers. I keep probing and he eventually admitted that money is actually from Clients like me when they charged from the 6th Meet&Greet!! I asked them to permanently delete my account and personal information and got a email that my account is deactivated. Today I received a text message from Rachel at Like Family inviting me to pay 4 hours to join a movie night. I strong advised any worker and clients to keep a long long distance from this highly deceptive bug in the disability and aged care community!

Like family are very pleasant to talk to. Each staff member is helpful and interested in listening to my concerns.

I was without car and in a bit of need when I applied for support.. then RAA insurance paid for a new car.. changing my circumstances. I contacted by a customer support person wondering if I was still in need of service. I said no and explained my connection to community.. thankful no pressure was supplied and she said if circumstances change in the future we are hear for you. Was also a bit shocked by price.. not supported to take on such a commitment to finance for the service.. serious consideration needs to be applied for the service in future.. God willing we will see what the future holds in time.

My name is Colleen and I have been working with Like Family since November 2022. I worked with another organisation for 1 year before joining Like Family. I was the sole caregiver for my mother in-law for 8 years , who had dementia. I have worked with a lady that required 24/7 care so i have done sleep overs and would shower, dress, cook her meals and was her companion. We would do art activities and music, and anything she requested me to do. . I love being able to help people go about their day, It’s very rewarding, Like Family is a great organisation helping people in the community. I love being a companion too others that need me.

The Like Family staff & platform has been very professional & accommodating from the very start.
