H&L Salon - Sylvania

On arrival I was met with attitude, I arrived 20mins early as I had not been there before. I was trying to say to the young man that I knew I was early but just wanted to check in, not come in early and was rudely told I was 20mins early. I wish I had trusted my instinct and left but being Christmas I thought maybe they were just busy. I then asked for a fairly straightforward cut and was left with a bob that did not look anything like the picture. If you can't do a style just say so. now I am left to grow out an awful bob. Thank goodness there is nothing important coming up.... oh wait, Christmas, New Years, the only social events we have had all year...

A bit disappointed...being a pensioner, I called for an estimate for low lights & cut, having very short hair. Quoted approximately $120-$150. Loved everything except when it came to paying $250!! Can’t believe $100 more!! Service 5 Star, price 0 star.

This review is long over due. I have been coming to H&L Salon for 2 years now and i really cant see myself going anywhere else. My 5 star review goes to my hairdresser Sarah. I was recommended to see sarah from a friend who also had a great experience with her. I have really frizzy/curly hair and most hairdressers i go to dont cut my hair according to that, so my curls don't end up looking as nice and even. Sarah is amazing, my hair always looks great after seeing her and my layers are perfect for my curls. Sarah has such a refreshing energy. I genuinely get happy to get my hair cut and see her. She is so down to earth and as weird as it sounds human" She is so professional and has such great customer service and she really does it all by just being her. A very real human being. She is a senior stylist so i believe she is a little more pricey than others in the salon but she is so worth it. Sarah really knows her stuff when it comes to hair and you can tell she is passionate about her work as she is well educated. I am so comfortable with Sarah that she will ask me what i want with my hair and I'll just say

This place is AMAZING, I come here for school holiday hair cuts and the hairdresser I have is nice, professional, and most definite cuts hair well. I would and have recommend this place to friends and family members to come to this salon. The pricing is great too. Well done staff. Well earned 5 stars! :)

I arrived for my appointment and was told I had to wait outside.Regardless of Covid/capacity restrictions there should have been a seat ready for me at my appointment time - this demonstrates a lack of organisation.Asking someone to leave as soon as they arrive at your business is a terrible first impression. Other places have waiting seats inside the business. I felt like trash. I should have walked away then, but I proceeded with the haircut.The lady who cut my hair was in a mad rush. She wouldn't talk to me about styling and didn't seem to care about my needs. She just wanted to get the cut done as fast as possible - it seemed I was an inconvenience for her. I was just a number, not a person, in their robotic haircut production line.The cut itself was not good, as it was rushed it was uneven with details missed.I will not be returning.

10mins for a trim for $65 - no wash no blow dry. Efficient

My hair was done by Dani. It looks amazing. All my friends have commented on the terrific style and colour. I highly recommend this wonderful girl.

Had a very bad hair cut and colour at another salon, needed someone to help as much as they could. Went to this salon decades ago when I lived in Miranda so thought I’d try again. So so lucky I did, a lovely lady Djiana, was a miracle worker. I’m an oldie, so many just fob us off, but she listened to my issues I had with the disaster I had the week previously, she really listened and gave many suggestions I was so happy with what DJiana did, not much left with the hack job done the week previously but she worked magic, cannot recommend her more highly.

I never get my hair cut or spoil myself and when i do its once a year. I called to make an appointment and get a quote. I told them specifically what i wanted, foils and a hair cut. No hair dry etc. Was quoted $250 yes its a quote and it can change i understand that. I get there and showed the lady what i wanted which was a red highlights and was talked out of it saying that it wont be good as its high maintenece i explained over and over that its what i wanted still was told no. This was dissapointing and frustrating so i ended up just getting my roots redone the same colour. I was in tears from the hairdresser not listening to me. I was crying for ages and no one asked if i was ok. Had my hair washed to get the dye out and was charged $350, FOR ROOT TOUCH UP. No cut nothing my mouth dropped to the floor.I spoke to the manager about the situation and how upset i was and i was in tears and he said to me oh we thought you had personal issues going on. Extremely rude and disgusting comment.So over priced and not worth and the job wasnt anything to rave about either.
