Interesting exhibits in the Cairns Museum. Giving Museum a 4 star review as I was expecting a larger museum. Only spent an hour in museum with my 2 teens. Not worth $15 Adult entry price but we only paid $30 for family of 4 so it is more reasonable. There are exhibits on 3 levels (G floor, L1 and L2). Level 2 exhibit is only one room.

Excellent. What a little gem of a place. Doesn't look like much space from the road, but enter into a magical trip into the past. It's spread out over two floors. Quiet rest spots on the balcony are perfect for views over the streets below. Alot of interesting artifacts you just don't see in a larger museum. True to the region specifically. Lovely, vibrant art, friendly staff and gifts available in the shop. Prices so reasonable for the effort put into presenting unique objects. A excellent time line of the regions also provided. Fascinating trip through history. Thank you!

Lovely little museum and a great place to learn about the history of Cairns from different perspectives. Not a big museum, but still brimming with interesting information and displays to help you spend a couple of hours there. The verandah is a beautiful place to sit down, relax, have a drink of water and watch the streets below.

Walking back in time to the 1960's-1970's when Historical Society building was the Cairns School of Arts, Library.Staff very helpful. The Historical Society also have loads of information for interested family researchers and Photos of the good old days.

Lovely little museum with extremely high quality and informative exhibits. I was very excited to see a piece of the Endeavour Tree on display, as I work at a museum that has the rest of that very tree lol. Would love to visit again and hopefully get to chat more with staff, as it was a quiet day when I visited and it seemed that there weren't many staff/volunteers on hand that day, so I didn't want to take anyone away from their busy tasks.

This is a nice little museum in the City of Cairns and a must visit if you would like to learn about the history of Cairns. Staff are friendly and there will be volunteers guide you. Museum is well organized and educative. You can find parking on the nearby streets for free. It will take maximum of two hours to see.

An absolutely fascinating museum that gives an incredible insight into the rich history of the Cairns region. There is so much to see, the museum is laid-out extremely well, and conveniently located. The artefacts, exhibits and stories are amazing. We really enjoyed our visit to the museum and leant so much. Touring this exquisite museum was a cultural highlight of our visit to Cairns. I strongly recommend that visitors to Cairns check it out.

I’m sure the staff do their absolute best with the resources provided but it’s a tiny space and has so little on the Gimuy Walubara Yidinji peoples - very focused on post-colonial Cairns and almost nothing on natural history. It’s such a beautiful and interesting region that I expected much more.

This is a compact but very well curated museum on three floors. The numerous artifacts take you right back in time. There is plenty to read and touch. There is a wealth of period maps and photographs to enjoy.Don't miss the views from the classic veranda and a cool glass of water. The restaurant next door offers 10% discounts to museum ticket holders. Their coffee is great
