I have been a client with ‘Wards Accounting’ for approximately 20 years. I have also recommended them to a couple of my friends.I have never had any issue until last week. I am now retired and I wasn’t required to lodge a return for the last two financial years. I am going to transfer some of my funds into a new account and I wasn’t sure if that meant I would need to lodge a return. A yes or no answer. I’m not looking for financial assistance. It was just a little thing I thought I could settle on the phone. But no! The receptionist (with attitude) told me I needed an appointment. I said ‘An appointment to find out if I need to make an appointment’ she said they couldn’t help me because my tax information isn’t available yet. I told her it wasn’t about me tax information. She was so self righteous she didn’t want to listen. She put me through to ‘John’s’ phone out of frustration with me. He didn’t answer so she said that she would have ‘John’ ring me back. I gave her my name and number and thanked her for her time. That conversation was a week ago and I still haven’t heard from ‘John’ or the receptionist. I will be looking for another Accountancy Firm to answer my question and make an appointment if necessary, with them. So much for being a loyal client for so many years. Very disappointing.

Very poor experience. Charged me for outstanding tax years without confirming with me first, then didn't reduce the bill when I asked a year to be removed. Then had the nerve to make up a 'cancellation fee' of $300+ for not going ahead with signing the papers (called front desk and they had no idea of a cancellation fee). They didn't discuss the fees with me and gain my agreement before proceeding with the advice. The phone call I received demanding the $300 was confronting and flat out rude. Couldn't believe it.
