Wow what a rude man. Arrived after 14hrs travel to find a serious filth he has homeless druggies cleaning the room. They were living in a caravan right next to the room, with rubbish strewn. We complained and George the owner said oh well, if you don’t like then don’t stay. Couldn’t get accomodation in Moree and had to drive hours through the night in floods to get to StGeorge. Found after that they charged our card for not one night that we booked for but charged 2 nights. Still trying to get my money back. We have been loyal to George for years just to be greeted badly. He has totally lost the plot. Don’t stay and don’t mix up reviews between the restaurant and motel. They are still keeping the kitchen good though I would love to be a health inspector. Enough from me. Just avoid their poor attitude. By the way they are in strife because he built a massive two story extension. Unapproved and not to Council standards. His problems are reflecting on the business

Great motel, George the owner was very friendly. Sheets and bathroom were clean. Our dog was very welcome. The artesian pool was very relaxing. Handy to takeways and morning coffee. We would stay again

Have seen a few negative reviews lately. We arrived late and George the owner was very helpfulYes it is outdated but for a stopover motel it did the jobOur room was clean and had everything we need!

Budget Barry would struggle to find a reason to stay. Absolutely awful. Dont stay. We were a loyal customer but they are lazy with little or no maintenance done.The pet friendly section (rooms 40+) is abysmal - room had water damaged, stank and has a permanent caravan blocking the door. We complained and they swapped us to the other section where we usually stay. The other section was very basic - that’s ok. We are ok with basic. BUT it now lacks basic maintenance. We have been staying here on our way through for 20 years and not $1 spent on any improvements. Don’t get sucked in by the artesian pool. It has gradually got worse over the years and lots of floating things and tissues in it. A lazy owner methinks. Even in the good section (rooms 1-39 near the pool) the kitchen fridge was broken and believe it or not the UHT milk had lumps! We didn’t have a coffee there. The shower had a broken shower nozzle and the soap dispenser had broken and they hadn’t bothered to replace it. My wife refused to have a shower in it. The cold water tap on kitchenette had been leaking and there was green gunk all around it.Overall, they have lost a loyal customer as they are lazy and cheap. Not sure what they did during lockdown but I know other places put effort into cleaning and maintenance.

We had an overnight stay in Moree on our way up north. We had a dog with us and were in my opinion way overcharged for what we received.- Crockery and cutlery were not clean- Shower was not usable (filthy)- I did check the bed and the sheets were clean, thankfullyWe were so keen to get out of there that we hit the road at 6:15am the next morning.

A truly terrible experience.Grubby. An open hole in the wall to the outside - response to my question was ‘it will be fixed tomorrow’No help to me.Bedspread filthy from rubbing on floor, shower white with scum, fridge seal repaired with silicon and very dirty, no cable on the tv and looked like spit in the screen, rear of cupboard has been wet - swollen timber and smell.Hold your nose in the office - awful smell in there.Don’t go there.

Terrible. Resort is not what i would describe as a run down dump. Our dunny at home on a bad day is cleaner than the room. Yes it has a hot pool. Buy a cheap bunnings spa and stay home. Its like a car dealer selling you a rust bucket and calling it a super car. The place should be condemned there was a bloody hole in the wall where a pipe had been removed and the cupboard underneath complete with mould and water damage. I have written many reviews with google and none as scathing as this.
