I was having intermitted auto trouble and was recommended KB Auto. After leaving the car there I was told that the transmission was shot and probably needed to be replaced/rebuilt. They couldn't find parts so sent me on. I ended up taking the car to a proper auto mechanic that diagnosed it to an electrical fault.If KB didn't want to do the repair they could have just told me rather than charging me $99 for a fake assessment.

If you want a 4L60 transmission that will last in a daily driven family car built then this place is not for you. We had a transmission built by this company approximately 4 years ago for a daily driven LS1 Commodore with no substantial mods. We even purchased the optional transmission cooler to help prolong the life of the transmission. Approximately two years later it broke the sprag clutch which we had to pay to replace as it was just outside of warranty" but they had never seen one fail like that before.... Now a couple of years down the track the transmission has failed again and in need of a full rebuild. You would expect a quality built transmission to last longer than 4-5 years when paying almost 4 grand for what is thought to be a quality build. We opted for the quality parts at the time and did not cheap out. The stock transmission lasted almost 14 years without a problem.Update from a reputable repair shop. The sprag clutch that was replaced was a second hand unit which was not what we paid for. The "shift kit" that was installed was simply by blocking off one of the pressure circuits which is a dodgy was of doing things and caused the drum band to break. The band used was not suitable for this modification combined with the dodgy shift kit caused damage to the drum."

They were very Helpful and very cost effective in repairs and keeping us upto date on the repair timeline. Highly recommended.
