My friend and I went to the Royal for dinner two nights in a row as we enjoyed the food so much, we had to go back.Had the rotisserie lamb should on the second night and it was delicious! As a side we chose the broccolini as suggested by a staff member and it was a great combination.

Excellent food, excellent service and the recent renovations are fabulous. The pub looks very modest from the outside. It will be renovated in the future but don't let that fool you. The inside is beautifully renovated and the bistro serves up incredible dishes. The steaks are amazing as are the cheeseburger spring rolls. Everything our large group had was fantastic and everyone raved on about how good the food was afterwards. There is even a gelato bar and activities for the kids. Perfect for families, couples and groups. Highly recommended and we will be back soon!

Old style pub out the front, finished with a modern style out the back. Food and service fantastic, definitely not your old stodgy pub fare. Owners Peter and Karen have done a great job with the staff and the menu. Don’t go past this if you visit Richmond.

never disappoints.... whilst i normally get the exceptional chicken scnitzel, branched out for the cider & pork sausages with a raspberry souffle (specials menu). always a warm place in winter. always a comfortable place to have a meal and get a drink.

Went their for lunch today as I have been looking for a decent steak meal. I certainly wasn't disappointed. I had the rib eye and it's the best steak I have had in a long time. The schoolies to start were cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned.My partners rump was also superb.Went back there today for a quick lunch. Service great and the food was excellent. We had fish and chips and a rump steak sandwich with gentlemen's relish.

Had been wanting to check out the Royal after the recent renovations. Visited the Royal yesterday with my sister around mid afternoon and ordered the cheeseburger spring rolls and fried potato skins with creme fraiche and bacon. The spring rolls were yummy. Expected the Potato skins to be crispy and there wasn’t enough of the creme fraiche for the quantity of potato skins. Place looks nice after the renovations and service was friendly.

Customer service was pretty shocking. Nobody greets you, you’re left wandering if they come to a table or just be left in the corner to slow dye of starvation. The bar was having issues with only accepting only cash so we had to pay at the front desk via card, then go the bar to wait for our drinks then bring them to our table then order at the front desk again. All a bit weird to be honest, it probably has potential when it’s busy but not the approach you’d expect for a high rated pub
