I took my family here after almost cancelling after reading the Google reviews. It really is a wonderful venue with an unmatched atmosphere on the river. Worth it just for a look. Everything we ordered was very good, fish and chips, bug rolls, veggie burger and some of the best calamari we have ever eaten. The service was friendly and couldn't fault it really. Great job to all the staff they did a top job looking after. My Gran still can't stop raving about her kids meal lol

We have dined at the Boathouse several times on past holidays. However, following our lunch there on 4th June, we will definitely not return.After paying for our meals, I watched in horror as the young woman put her hand into a bowl of dirty washing up water and took out a fork, which she then wiped on a dirty tea towel before she placed the fork into a packet containing a knife. The other packet already contained the required cutlery.On returning to our table, I proceeded to wipe both sets of cutlery with a clean tissue. When I told my husband what had taken place he was disgusted at the careless attitude of the young woman.It is obvious that the owner of the Boathouse is doing things on a budget. Why wasn’t the dishwasher used to wash the cutlery? Are the glasses and plates also hand washed in what must be duty lukewarm water!

Loved the location! Were from Melbourne and was amazed of the riverside, simply beautiful. What a place to enjoy a coffee, beer, milkshake, the list goes on. Visited for an afternoon snack and we loved it. A must to just go and relax and enjoy the area.

Waited 30mins after we’d finished eating for 2 coffee’s. After asking for them 3 times we realised they had been sitting on the counter. IQ levels in that place are obviously nil. Unbelievable!

Had breakfast here with the family. Service was good, food was good, coffee was good and the view is fantastic. What else could you want?

Stopped in on a chilly winters walk for a try of the Boathouse coffee and was very happy. Good coffee and excellent service with a side of some tasty Hash Brown's. Add to that you get some great views over the Fitzroy River.Might be my new Saturday morning stop.

Booked for lunch on a Tuesday but wasn't busy. Staff reserved us a table on the balcony which projects into the Fitzroy River & provides a lovely view. Food was very tasty & with generous serving sizes. Our party had the prawn pizza, fish & chips & bug rolls. Meals are a cut above pub food. Quay Street has had a quality upgrade & The Boathouse is well located & a nice casual venue. Recommended.

Location is fantastic. Chicken parmigiana is average for the price. The sides of it are too crumby and tough to chew. Might not be the freshest chicken parma I have ever had. Service was alright, not the happiest bunch there.
