We bought a rundown 7 acre hobby farm in Queensland (upsizing from a suburban home) about 12 months before seeking Calmer Farmer's help. We started with home renovations but in the meantime were also purchasing and adopting goats and chickens, and a bunch of things that were on sale (ie a bee hive, vegepod, and greenhouse),, pulling a part old greyhound tracks and horse yards and we just found ourselves with too many projects on the go. We also had no real understanding of farming. We didn't even know if we wanted the hobby farm as a fun activity that our work pays for or to pay for itself.This is where Christine has been sooo helpful. She brought structure and consideration to our ideas, and helped us to better understand our farm. We learnt more about our soil, vegetation, and infrastructure. What was incredibly useful were the practical exercises and discussions around the business initiatives because then we started building out plans and determining what infrastructure and changes took priority.
