Big4 Acclaim Prospector Holiday Park

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERNATTENTION: 1. Big 4 Holiday Parks2. Acclaim Holiday ParksI am a Big 4 Member, I know this, because I have paid the $50 to be awarded the privilege. To my knowledge, paying membership to a Caravan Park Group is a feature that only Big 4 own.My wife and I have travelled to many parts of our magnificent country, therefore visiting many varied parks along the way.On Friday 23rd of June, 2023 at 12.39pm, whilst leaving ‘Wave Rock’, WA, I pre booked a one night stay at Big 4 Kalgoorlie for 24th June 2023, paid by credit card, with intention to extend.On Saturday 24th of June, 2023 we arrived at Big 4 (Acclaim) Kalgoorlie. As with most parks I have visited, I pulled into the driveway with my 24’ van. Not long after, a lady came out of the office and rather abruptly told me not to ‘block the driveway’ and move down. ‘Fair call’, I thought, and moved down the driveway to clear the entrance.Having parked, I attended the office to book in. To my astonishment, I was immediately given a dressing down lecture as to why I hadn’t stopped out on the roadway as instructed by the sign.I need to emphasise that this was abrupt, unexpected, impersonal, and rude. My response was, ‘I think I might go somewhere else’, Reply: ‘Go for it’.At this point of time this lady did not know who I was, was unaware as to our booking status, and was obviously more interested in delivering her message than dealing with a customer.Now, let’s take a step back and remind ourselves, ‘I have paid $50 membership’ to be on the receiving end of this!‘U’ turning to leave that park, I noticed it was less that 50% full, the said sign was elevated. So here’s a KPI for you. We were unable to get a site anywhere else in Kalgoorlie, the 72-hour park was full. We then drove the 2 hours further to Norseman. Now there’s an indicator!Obviously, I am not privy to Big 4 and Acclaim’s HR Policy, and they can deal with their representatives as they see fit. However, as the Managing Director of a Civil Construction Company in South Australia, any employee who behaved in this manner would be missing in action very soon thereafter.Please check my membership, you will see that the payment for the site has not been used. I am not seeking a refund and would prefer that you spend it on a short course in human relations in Kalgoorlie. Once my membership in Big 4 has expired, IT WILL NOT BE RENEWED. For that I thankyou for encouraging me to ‘Free Camp’.Now as a Web Based Business, Big 4 has no real risk, it doesn’t own anything. Good value for money. Excellent service. Cabin was quite adequate. The only suggestion is the steps to the entry are damaged and need replacing

Great amenities, peaceful safe. Icing on the cake would be: free cancellation until the few days prior, as plans/booking dates can often change.

Stayed in a powered site for a few days, rang ahead so the 2 vans could be together, totally messed our booking up, couldn't be put together and 1 couple had to share 2 taps with 5 vans, work that one out.Unbelievable for being a big 4 member and over $42 a night.

Had to mark time over Easter as Perth was booked out. Wonderful front counter staff. Very helpful. Toilets backed up on 2nd night. Bit ugly. About to leave the park on the Tuesday after Easter and the water was turned off. Got a message 20 minutes later. As we left another message advising amenities closed until further notice. I believe that while there our car was ransacked by local children while I attended to van repairs. Cash in a leather pouch, a tyre pressure monitor key, a new digital tyre pressure gauge were among items stolen. If we ever had to return we’d stay in Boulder.

OK park, apparently the last one not owned by the mines. Messed up our booking, but quickly sorted it out and got us on a good site(bit tight but ok). Amenities were good and well serviced. Park is far enough from main street to be quiet enough and safe.

Spent 2 night here at a tent site. Park and sites was very neat and clean. Great amenities. Clean showers and toilets. Dog friendly kept on lead.Staff were polite and helpful. Felt safe and secure. Highly recommended. Thanks for a lovely stay

Very average and tired caravan park. Caravan sites are very tight at the main road side. At the other end are dongers but bigger sites. I'd imagine if dongers in use you'd be awoken early with the workers rising. Our site was up adjacent towards the main road where some permanent residents are. Friday night was reasonably quiet with only the odd train in the distance and a work truck reversing beeps at times. Saturday many trains and horns in the early morning and the annoying work truck reversing beeps going on for some time.

Easy process to book for the night, we stayed one night, place was very clean, kitchen even has a tv in there! Amenities are clean and there is a laundry if you need to do washing.Dog friendly alsoI wouldn’t hesitate coming back if I’mPassing through again and would recommend for anyone else passing through town

Old showers BUT fantastic pressure.. nice clean park ...
