MAI Dojo

I've been with this gym for years. It's got a great group of friendly martial artist who push each other to be the best that we can be every day. Whether you're looking to just do this as a hobby, fitness, self defense or go to the next level this gym will provide it all. 24/7, great price. There's plenty of martial arts gyms around Wellington, but not many have full gym equipment included, squat racks, bench press, and machines they also include a sauna too, which makes weight cutting easy, and healthy for the joints after a good roll on the full size mats. Can't recommend this place enough. Also include a large variety of different martial arts discipline, and connections to other bjj gyms around New Zealand, and Brazil.

I have trained with Bira since his arrival in New Zealand a decade ago. Since then our team has grown from strength to strength, as has the family. The people that train are friendly, with no egos and always willing to help. The greatest thing about MAI Dojo is the people, the number and diversity of classes available. 24/7 access is great as you will always find someone working out and looking to work on their Jiu Jitsu outside of scheduled class times. Bira and Bella have done a wonderful job of creating an awesome environment for us all to train in. Everyone is warm and inviting and you will be encouraged and supported to reach your full potential . Not to mention it has 24/7 gym facilities, with multiple Martial Art classes and a sauna. The quality here is like non other.

Amazing gym, best facilities for martial arts gym I’ve been to, sauna is so good after training. The BJJ classes are a lot of fun, high level of teaching and everyone is super friendly across the board. Family atmosphere, would recommend to anyone looking to tryout martial arts for the first time, as well as seasoned practitioners looking to compete. See you on the mat!!!!!

Ive trained there for over 8 years now. Such awesome people. Basically a 2nd family to me. Plus it's the only gracie gym in Wellington. Get involved.
