Over the past few weeks I have been out of town and have needed assistance in shipping some of the packages from my storage unit. Have been unable to access my belongings due to ongoing asbestos removal.Ringing helpline is USELESS.Waiting over 10min on hold with no answer. When I did get through the person was unable to put me through to relevant people to help.

Security not as advertised— Website says facility has “controlled entry” and you need a key code to get in with your car… but I once inside today I saw there is a second back entrance that with a gate left open for anyone to drive in… and the door to the storage units is left open during office hours… so the only thing actually protecting my stuff is just my pad lock! I spoke to the lady at the desk about it and she said the other gate is controlled by another business and he leaves it open when he’s there… but not to worry because there are cameras. Unless you have insurance as well, storage king is not responsible if your stuff is stolen. I’m going to be moving my stuff to another company.

Over many years and a massive relocation that went very smoothly, Fort Knox have proved reliable, secure and always helpful in storing our belongings. Other family members now have units. Highly recommended!

The Fort Knox team moved his last week. From the pre-move visits by Alex and the leader of the move team, Mike, they paid great attention to detail and, most important, took great care of our belongings. It was a complicated move, with us moving out most of our boxes and furniture on a Monday and Tuesday, and a van coming to take the balance of our possessions (mostly our more fragile items) early on Thursday morning. The first truck arrived to unload at the new house on Thursday morning, and everything was finished by noon on Friday. You meet a lot of people who just do their job for the money, and go through the motions; that couldn't have been further from the truth with Mike's team. He, Michelle, Tim and Dylan complemented each other perfectly. They were friendly and cheerful throughout, and showed the greatest respect for both the loads they were moving, and the floors and walls of both properties. Furniture that had to be disassembled at the first house was put back together effortlessly, and nothing was too much trouble for them. I recommend them very highly.

We used Fort Knox storage for 17 years and it has been a very good experience. There are a number of things to consider when you use self storage. How easy is the access or how close to where you live? Both boxes ticked for us there. How friendly or helpful are the staff? Again all good. But there is one important difference to other storage places and that is the building you store your stuff in. If you have wooden furniture and you store it in a tin can (which is what you see often), it can get really hot inside, causing all sorts of problems. Fort Knox uses storage units inside a large building, keeping the temperatures reasonably constant. There are trolleys available to move your gear from the entrance to your unit and there are even complimentary trailers available to transport your stuff to and from Fort Knox. We can definitely recommend Fort Knox without any hesitations.
