Incredible experience! Would recommend 100%Daniel and staff were extremely friendly and kind. Food and wine better than big cities in Australia. Very grateful for accommodating us as we were driving through. Did I mention the music? So tasteful, wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you xo

This place is definately 5 out of 5. You can tell instantly that the people who work at Coquun take the business of food and hospitality seriously and it's their passion.Excellent service and food that is very hard to come by these days. The experience alone is worth every cent and the excellent food is a bonus. I had a ham and cheese croissant with a regular flat white. The croissant was hand made and just the way it should be, flakey on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The filling of bacon and cheese with their homemade chilli relish was done perfectly. Easily the best I've ever had. Bravo!

WOW! I hosted my 21st birthday here this year and to say I was impressed was an understatement. Alissa very kindly allowed us to occupy the upper level for the day and the space was divine! Our lunch was incredible, I have never experienced such high quality food that still tastes like a home cooked meal. All my guests had the most wonderful time, commenting on how beautiful the space was, the view over the levee and the AMAZING food. The atmosphere was incredible and staff were so friendly. We had the amazing twins taking care of us for the day and they were so incredibly personable, friendly and authentic - it felt like they were a part of the celebration! I could not recommend Coquun enough - they made it almost too easy to have an amazing time. I will definitely be back!

Nice view and outdoor seating with music. The food was really yum with interesting Australian ingredients. The staff were extra friendly. Very hip brunch spot. A bit expensive.

Do not go here. Food is average (5/10) and service is (3/10).My wife and I went here last weekend (Good Friday) for my birthday while we were spending the weekend at hunter valley. The service was appalling. We were sat down at 7:30. We didn’t have a reservation but they accommodated us as in the upstairs dining room. When we went upstairs there were 2 tables (4 guests) dinning, and the venue (upstairs) could accommodate close to 20 people, so clearly it wasn’t that busy. Downstairs though, had about 15-20 guests dining in the patio. We both took a glass of wine with us while at the front desk and walked upstairs with it. The maître d walked us up and gave the menus, right away inquired if we would like “sourdough and olives”, some may like it but some may not. We didn’t fancy that at the time so we declined. She went away and told our server would come up shortly to get our order. We waited for roughly 10-15 minutes for the server to come to us. While we were waiting our server sat down 2 other guests and took their order right away for appetizers and drinks. Then placed the order and came to us even though we were sat down first. Our order was simple fries with a house made aeoli, the fries was normal as you’d expect in any frozen store bought bag. The aeoli was very thin and liquidy, it was a beetroot reduced aeoli. They missed the mark on that. After being left alone with the apps and drinks for 10 mins (just as we were finishing up the fries) the server came to take our order. I ordered a medium well steak ($42) and my wife ordered the chicken ($36). Next came the longest wait we’ve ever had to experience to get our food. I made a complaint downstairs about the delay (at this point it was probably 20-30 mins from when we ordered the food). Our server came up and apologized and told us that what we ordered takes a while to cook, mind you a medium well steak only takes a total of 8-10 minutes. While this was happening there were 3 other new tables seated, the table behind us who was sat after us didn’t order any apps, but just the mains (same steak as I did) and theirs came so much faster. They even managed to eat their meal and leave by the time we finished our first bite of our main course.Only reason I’m giving them 2 stars instead of one is because they comp’d us the drinks ($28). The total still came to $100 which was absurd. See photos for the abomination they served as the chicken. It was a single boiled chicken breast with paprika, salt and pepper sprinkled on top. LITERALLY JUST BOILED CHICKEN BREAST FOR $36.

We went at night, but I imagined that the view would be pleasant during the day. The food was good, I recommend the mushroom dish. My partner chose the chicken and while it was well cooked, he had a bit of food envy of our friends' steaks and my mushroom dish. The food is full of flavour and what makes it interesting is the native produce they use to prepare the food and some cocktails. We need more restaurants like these. The person serving us was very sweet and attentive. All in all a very good dinner.

Nice little cafe tucked away from the main street of Maitland. Had a tasty sandwich, pulled pork with some Swiss cheese etc. Good coffee too. The view is alright, looking out across the river and is pretty peaceful. What was an interesting choice was they had an island-style auto-dj booth playing a mix of old tunes (some good, some bad), quite loud. Party lights, the whole bit. I would have been happy enough with some background music, but maybe I'm just being overly critical.Staff were great. Would definitely come back here.

My partner and I dined here with my parents and sister yesterday. Firstly, there were no large tables left just 3 round of 2. A family of 4 grabbed us and said we had motivated them to move on and were so kind to us. I don't know if they were affiliated with the business or regulars, clearing the table and helping, they only moved to the smaller area and were sitting with others. How kind of them to do that for us. Secondly the food as pictured, was just so amazing. Fresh and full of flavours. It's the best meal I've had in a while. My mouth is still watering. We had the nourish plate, croissant, Angus burger and a dessert wattle and a danish. Plus our milkshakes were so good. The people who work here are very good at their jobs. They took very good care of us giving us enough attention when required. One person stood out to us, they came and put the umbrella down and was pleasant about it, dancing subtly to the beautiful music playing. If I can say the energy and personality was just so good to be around. It made us smile. From the views, to the food and drinks (next time I am having one of those cocktails I saw coming out) to the service, it was relaxing and amazing. All I can say to anyone in the area, go here! Thank you for such a great experience, I will be back.
