Excellent museum but a pity it doesn't have more about the Indigenous history and culture of the area. It's as if indigenous culture and history has been extirpated from the entire peninsula even though a cursory look at the literature reveals a vexed history of first contact.

Plenty to see and read. Old class rooms chock-a-block full of displays. Plus roomsSet out as they were used then.

Found a lot of family history here. The lady volunteer is a wealth of knowledge & can put her hands on stuff at the mere mention of a name.

All local museums are excellent repositories of area history. Hampered by lack of funding. The staff member here was very helpful, keen and well informed. Interesting exhibits included rare early Australian computer history. Who still remembers the Microbee?

Stumbled across this beauty in Tumby Bay. We wanted to fill in some time with the kids.We were welcomed by the wonderful Pam who spent time showing my two kids around. They were allowed to touch and explore (within means), play old musical instruments and use the old typewriters. It was like taking a step back in time! We really enjoyed our visit here.

We loved the museum. So many items on display. On arrival we met Pat Carr who shared all her local information and showed us how things worked or explained how they worked. What a woman! A place worthwhile visiting in fact a must.
