Absolute North Charters

John at Absolute North Charters was fantastic. Years of local knowledge and experience is worth more than gold when hiking. Directed up creeks to beautiful spots and kept us safe by letting us know the weather was about to turn bad towards the end of my trip. I will be back again next year to use Absolute North Charters for my next Hinchinbrook Island adventure.

I recommend 200% to book the ferry with John to go to Hinchinbrook Island.Booking with him, it’s not just a transfer, it’s a real experience.He welcomed us as if we were members of his family. He answered to my numerous questions.On the way, we saw dolphins and sea cows, was incredible.John is kind, funny and helpful.Hope we will see again.

Absolute North Charters is the only way to go to Hinchinbrook Island! John is super knowledgeable and a true local of the area, he’s a great character and it makes for an epic journey.

Can't reccomend Absolute North Charters any higher, John is the best skipper you could ask for to take you over to Hinchinbrook for the spectacular Thorsborne Trail. John's info in the lead up gives you everything you need to know about this hike, the app is a must for this trip. John called the day before our transfer, offered to pick us up and drop us off from the caravan park in Lucinda, being our first multi-day hike he double checked we were all sorted, offered to go back to the caravan park to retrieve my camera battery (that I forgot) then gave us an extra can of aeroguard, along with numerous tips for the trail. I think the bloke would give the shirt off his back for his customers.

John is a fantastic skipper and a wealth of local knowledge. Very professional and always kept our safety and comfort as his first priority.We experienced a lot of wet weather on the 2nd day of our hike and the App was a absolute life saver. The App is fantastic to know where reliable water sources are, phone reception and showed us live where we were on the trail.I highly recommend Absolute North Charters and his App and would definitely use his services for all my future trips to the island.

100% book your transfer with John from Absolute North Charters. He picked us up from the bus the day before to take us to our accommodation for the night, then picked us up in the morning as well to get us to the boat ramp. John made sure we had everything we needed for our hike, looking after us as if we were his own kids. The 5-minute boat ride back is an added bonus.Thank you John, for being so accommodating and making our trip that much more enjoyable.

I’ve done hinchinbrook hike twice and have gone through Absolute North charters both times!The friendly nature of all staff and their knowledge is second to none! The safety and security you feel knowing if you want to cut your hike short that the team are more than accommodating to organise an early pick up!The convenience of Lucinda to do the hike is the best part, to start it with a scenic boat ride and end the hike with a short 5min boat ride is so good. Nothing better than having a shower after a long hot 4 day hike.The app is super easy to use and has live updates from people actually hiking the island, the live map tracks your progress and tells you everything you need to know even without phone reception!John’s business and friendly nature will keep me coming back to do this hike!

John is a legend. Friendly bloke. He was helpful in providing advice for the hike and knowledge of the Island. He went above and beyond to make sure felt welcomed and safe. Lucinda is a lovely little town, worth the stay. John's app for the Thorsborne Trail was excellent too! Thanks John!!!
