Michael was great. Prompt response from Hipages. Great advice on which direction to take. Turned up on time and completed the work no dramas all at a very reasonable price. Would happily recommend this business.

On a Sunday preceding a public holiday, I discovered a considerable leak in the hot water system - right above the electrical area. I became worried about the potential disastrous mix of water and electricity and I contacted Southern Cross Hot Water and Stove repair as they advertised 24 -hour and 7 day service. I accepted that I would pay inflated prices due to the holiday weekend and I made the call for help. The call was answered quickly and professionally despite it being late Sunday afternoon and I was informed that the contractor would be with me at 9am on Monday. I inquired about public holiday rates and was informed that if the tank needed replacing (highly likely given it was 15 years old and leaking like a sieve) I would not receive any surcharge.9am on the dot and the tank was inspected and replacement was confirmed. I asked many questions about the leak (looked like a puncture hole!) and how a hot water system is constructed and received patient and knowledgeable answers. I was told the replacement could occur first thing Tuesday morning, that I didn't need to be present (a relief as I work) and that invoice and warranty would be left in my meter box. They were. I also received photos of the installation on my mobile number so I had peace of mind even though I was at work. I strongly recommend this business to anyone needing hot water system advice, repair or replacement and even though I have a ten year warranty on my new system, I have saved Southern Cross hot water and stove repair to my phone so I can share it with others.

Charged me $250 for a call out plus 20 minutes work. Didn't reply to my email about the overcharge.
