Jakob has worked on my wrx numerous times now and has been very professional and on time every time. First time as there was a starting issue, next time replacing the front rotors and pads and the most recent time servicing the car and fitting a new coolant reservoir. His prices have been very fair and performed the work quickly but also to a high standard. Jakob was such a huge help with my car. He managed to squeeze me in last minute to change over my alternator and belt. He didn’t have to as he already had a busy day ahead but was willing and able to go above and beyond for me. If anyone is looking for a mobile mechanic who’s not only punctual, but also very generous with the service and prices, Jakob from Five Jay Mechanical is the man to call. A couple of days before the new year, my car went into limp mode with a DPF error message whilst i was coming out of the airport. I phoned Everyone and anyone but due to the Christmas holidays, no one was available. That was until i came across Jakob who over the phone was patient and explained everything that needed to be done and offered to look at it that same day! He did a forced regeneration and i was on my way the next day. Unfortunately down the line, it was only the beginning to bigger (but not serious) issues. Jakob came out to see the car and gave his professional outlook on it and ended up replacing an intercooler hose. Due to the dpf error popping up again, He then took the car apart and had the dpf cleaned by one of his connections. It wasnt an easy job and took 6 hours to take apart and put back again, yet he still charged me at a fair price. Ive driven it home tonight and it feels like a brand new car. I recommend Jakob 100%. Gives genuine and informative advice, and his work speaks for itself! Thanks again Jakob!!

I recently had my starter motor replaced by Jakob on my GTI but first he had to diagnose the problem… then source a starter which they sent the wrong type… he then raced around to find another one locally for me. I thought I’d be waiting a week but turned out 2 days. My car was in the driveway with no cover and he fixed it in the pouring rain. I was really impressed with everything and it was good to see good service is still important to some people. I definitely recommend them.
