St.George on Mermaid Beach Medical Centre

I visited this practice on 1/4/2022 to visit my doctor with whom I’ve been seeing for 10 years. I called 2 times before my appointment date to confirm I was having a small procedure done that will take longer then the 15 minutes she allowed in which the receptionist assured me ‘yes of course’. I then arrived at the medical centre where the receptionist there was exceptionally rude to myself and to those she was speaking to on the phone. I was then left to wait almost 3 hours because the time allocated was not done as it should have. I then paid my bill of almost $600 in which I then asked the receptionist if this is the correct invoice for my rebate. She assured me it was. To this day I have not received my claim as the item numbers were incorrect. Medicare stated the item numbers were wrong. When I called the medical centre I was hung up on. Believe me when I tell you I was quite understanding and definitely did not deserve to be hung up on. I called the manger at St George medical centre and was then told they cannot help me as my Doctor no longer works there.This medical centre is appalling. The customer service is appalling. To think I travelled two hours to be treated in this manner leaves me astounded. Would not recommend this service to no one. If I could rate it as a no star I would!

I've been seeing Dr. Max Po for about a year now, and I can safely say I'll never see another GP again, he is caring and compassionate, but also a no-nonsense brass tacks physician.He's helped me from everything from extreme depression and anxiety to helping me get the process of my spinal fusion underway, referring me to the best of the best.As long as he is a practicing general practitioner, I will see him and no one else. And the front of house team and nurses are all kind, polite and caring, absolute angels.Thank you for everything Max! I hope you enjoy the scotch :)

I have a newborn baby and feel very comfortable at this surgery. Most of the reception staff are so helpful, if there's wait time they let me sit in the front room with the baby where i can feed him and wait in private. Doctor Derrick is great, he is very personable, kind and caring.

I have seen Dr Max Po for many many years. He can speak fluent Chinese, Taiwanese and also English.Max has combined both Western and Eastern medicine, as many of us friends are of Asian descent, we are slightly unfamiliar with the Australian way.However, Dr Po guides us very professionally to all young and old. We highly recommend him to anyone who needs an honest family doctor!

I have been seeing Dr Po for 5 months now for post ankle (reconstruction) pain treatment. He not only help my pain problem with natural medication, but helped me lose weight that was impossible to do. Clinic is well run, with helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend if you looking for a good Dr or clinic on the Gold Coast.

I come to see my GP Dr Max Po since October 2020. I got physical injuries and PTSD from defence and suffered sharp pains in my knee and heavy headache. Dr Po absolutely a rare one has compassion heart to me even I had bad temper due to my pains and cannot sleep at night. Nurse Cathy is a professional nurse and always care about the patients. Reception Crystal always tried her best to do the booking for me to do acupuncture. I m still ongoing have acupuncture and light therapy from Dr Po twice a week at the moment. He is the best GP on the coast. I highly recommend him to everyone who suffering the pain physically and mentally. He will do everything best for us. Thank you so much everything u did for me Dr Po.

Dr Max is a great communicator and is an intellectually able G.P. He has a gentle manner that endears him to his patients. His incisive mind will find a solution that I often found to be surprising even though I had taught medical students. My thinking always moves forwards after an appointment with him. Dr Max is an excellent practitioner.

Highly recommend the team here. Seen me at a moment's notice and really friendly staff and DR Rob is the best doc iv seen. Really helped me out with a surgical procedure and was so comforting thought the whole thing. Highly recommend Dr Rob!! Very straight to the point yet caring at the same time which I find is the best type of doctor! ThankyouEdit: I didn't want to give too much information but I do feel like it may help people. I had my Implanon removed by Dr Rob, unfortunately my implant had gone really deep so it wasn't straight forward. Dr Rob really kept me calm as I started to have anxiety and was really comforting and just talked me through the process. So I highly recommend!

I was seeking a bulk billing doctor and after a recommendation from a friend I have been the patient of Dr Max Po for the past several months. He has been very professional, helpful and supportive in assisting me with several medical issues. The practice itself is great, professional, clean, bright and the receptionists and nurses are wonderful too.
